sorties and assists
I'm sure this has happened to lots of people...
youre on BS or HS, target locked and dog fighting. one more shot and hes dead...when all of a sudden, some one else kills the enemy and you lose the points you would have had. its infuriating! you spend the time and missiles to try and kill something and some one...(not always on purpose)...takes it all in one shot.
so what about points for assists and sorties? it could be based on the amount of shots landed in a case where the enemy is brought down by more than one player.
it needs some fleshing out probably but I'm drowning in rum right now.

As far as XP-sharing for assists goes, in theory this already is supposed to happen, at least with Hive bots (I haven't seen it in PVP, but then I rarely kill anyone who would give me combat XP for doing so)... I know that if I don't do all of the damage for a given hive kill, I get a smaller chunk of the xp for the last weapon I hit with. (Example: I was hunting a Leviathan with Ecka earlier today and got 1750 heavy XP when it died. Leviathans are worth 4000 weapons XP, iirc.)
I believe the amount of XP awarded is proportional to the amount of damage done, not the amount of hits you land -- and you have to be in the sector when the bot is killed, otherwise you won't get credit. I don't know if it works if you're docked at the time, even if you're in the same sector -- did any of the kill-steals happen while you were docked in the Trident? Are you sure you weren't awarded the XP and just didn't see the notification? If you didn't see it flash on the screen, it might be on your advancement logs in the missions tab (assuming, of course, that you did get the XP in the first place).
As far as credits for kills... there are no 'assist' credits for PKs, but you do get assists listed as kills for Hive Queens and Leviathans... dunno about other hive bots.

MSK is right , thats the way it works . With all hive bots xp might be shared with either another player or an npc . In the case cited I got less than 2000 xp , the corvus npcs got some , both players were credited with a levi kill.
You do have to be in the same sector when the hive bot dies to be credited with a kill.
Killing a levi from a trident turret gives the correct weps xp and increments the levi kill counter.
Currently killing a queen in the levi sector does not increment the queen kill counter , Momerath is aware of that and is looking at it.
