Change grid usage for non-weapons
Can the grid usage for mining beams, scanners, and radar extenders be lowered perhaps?
Example, Tung Mining Maud could then carry two mining beams with a widow maker on the small port for defense. Would allow this and perhaps other new weapons to put to a variety of uses with out abuses :-)

From an RP point of view, I'm pro the idea of sensors having their grid-power adjusted, but I'm not so sure about mining beams. After all, mining beams fire continuously and are powerful enough to vapourise rock...
If that is the case, they should be allowed to be used as a weapon.
At 75 to 100m range?
From an RP point of view, the alloys used to build ships, "XiRite" or whatever is way sturdier than the average random space rock. And I don't know how accurate a mining beam would be, considering they're designed to target very large, very immobile targets.
