What about developing mining platfroms to mine the roid belts?

Particulars would be:

-Secured away from a no fire zone
-Secured at least 3000 meters away from a local station
-Station would be automated
-Pilot would have to dock with the platform to remove the ore
mined and transport it to the nearest station to be sold
-station would have 5 ports three ports for mining lasers and
two ports for defense systems
-station would have to be re-supplied with goods like
energy cells
-laser components (lasers do go bad sometimes)

You could deploy only one mining platfrom per system.
You would not be able to secure your platform within 5000 meters of another platform.

This is just a small start feel free to add-on to this idea.

-Cargo bay would be 5000 cu to start
-add-ons would be a 7500 cu cargo bay and 10,000 cu cargo bay
-port defense systems would include two automated defense
fighters (bots) that would respond to any pilot firing on the
platform
-one mining bot for every two levels of mining license of the
platfrom owner with a maximum of two bots total per platform
-mining bot cargo bay would be 5 CU
