user deployable turrets

like the station turrets, they would be nerfed though. each player has a limited amount that they can have in their possesion at a time, they would be expensive. and they wouldnt fire on people warping in until a few seconds after their warp animation ends, just enough so that you arent killed without a chance of survival.

i checked in the please read prior blah blah blah thread and diddnt see this.

this could add another level to defending or blockading that i think could really even out the sides, currently blockades are too easy to pass with a infini-boost ship, and when defending capships, its too easy for attackers to simply fire off their swarms and get away without the defenders getting a chance to attack.

not bad but nothing as cool as shield bubble mines where it makes a shield net when you put 3 in a triangle or 4 in a triangular piramid shape shield will form in between mines

the amount of damage they take could be predetermined or could be determined oh the distance between the mines

i dint bother finding where this was posted before if anyone is less lazy then me may they find that thread and post it here :)

but anyways turrets mines could be a good idea but could be a real pain in the ass

wait there called liging mines no need for player deployable turrets ;)

There should be a limit-per-sector/character, though. Right now I'm imagining some kid in a sector with an allied cap ship spamming the sector with them and refueling in the cap.

They should not function if within 500m of the WH active sphere.

well I said that characters would not be able to buy another one until the first is destroyed. they would probably require you to finish a mission or have grat standing with the faction that sells them. so they wouldnt be much better than a lighting mine if theres only one but if there are several they would be quite difficult to get past. they would make it possible to actually blockade or set up an effective defense.

First of all, TGFT, don't gank me for dissing this idea :P

this would be okay if they used up a weapons port and some (or perhaps lots of) cargo room, so it would be, like, either lots of money or lots of safety. Still, though, I really can't see this happening.

it doesnt seem as hard to implement as player owned capships or stations. and i think that they should only take up either a port or be stored in the cargo.
personally i could see this adding lots of new ways to fight larger scale battles, and the combat alltogether.
