What do the creators of the game want?
So I have read a lot of post about what people would like to add to the game. Capital ships, more ships & gun’s, npc’s to fight not just bots, debris fields from old space battles, and even 1st person shooter style or Sims with insides of ships and space stations where people can have apartments, and stores.
But what were the designers of the game thinking? I don’t think anyone has posted a totally bad idea. But do the designers of the game want to go in any of thoughts directions? A 1st person shooter style or Sims addition with insides of space stations and ships would be cool (to me) but do the makers want that kind of game
So what kind of game did you guys in vision when you stat down and started planning it out?

Heh. You think they sat down and planned it out? This game started out as an engine demo that they were going to try to sell to another company. When it became apparent that that wasn't going to work, it started evolving into an MMORPG of its own. And by now, I'm sure that John has over 9000 Trac tickets of ideas. But I'm not sure if any of the design document still applies in its original form, and I'm quite sure that any ideas they had when they released Vendetta 2.4 (or whichever the initial test release was) are fair and gone now.
That's not entirely accurate. They created the engine demo in hopes of getting outside funding in order to fully develop the game (i.e. hire more developers). That could have included being bought out. They've always had a concept or vision of how the game should be.
A lack of sufficient outside funding was not in the initial plan. As a result they had to rethink their business model and forge ahead on their own. Out of necessity, they've left the beaten path of game development and are pretty much off-roading it now. I could beat the metaphor to death, comparing an off-road journey to Guild's journey in various clever ways, but you get the idea. Specific short-term planning is limited by whatever obstacles and resources are present at the time.

It'll be interesting to see if Incarante has a chance to answer your question, Paully. He's has probably 10 years worth of thoughts and on the subject. I don't know if he'd feel he has the time to do justice to the answer.
