old Games Pribateer and Freelancer

Ok I am about to find out how old I am. Have any of you played the game privateer?
Its old school 1993, 256 color, 3.5 floppy disks (6 of them). I am posting this do to the content post listed above.

Another game I did not play, but watched, that seemed to have a good deal of content was Freelancer. More up to date the privateer I would say maybe 2005-6.

I will post my ideas for content where it should be but… I just want to know if this old guy is too old, an these games have meaning to you guys also playing or do I need to fill you in.

I do enjoy the game, but I feel it lacks a great deal of immersion; witch I think with the ideas from content could be greatly increased.

Welcome Paully6

If you were to use the search function here, you would find numerous references to both Freelancer and Privateer. Also EvE, Earth and Beyond, Ace of Angels, and a few others which will occur to me once a have a therapeutic level of caffiene going. The comparisons are inevitable within such a narrow genre. Many of the players who participate in the forums here will know what you're talking about.

Vendetta does indeed lack immersion. I don't think there's any disagreement about that. You might want to look here for previous suggestions regarding content: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/7692

Ok, Whistler, you've got to stop referring people to the search function. Strictly speaking, we have one of the worst search functions in a forum, anywhere, it doesn't exactly play up the selling points.

I think it's less that the search function sucks and more that people don't know how to use it.

It ignores all terms shorter than four letters.
Putting phrases in quotes searches for the entire phrase.
Use a + before a word or phrase to require that entire word or phrase.
Use a - before a word or phrase to remove any posts that contain that word or phrase from the results.
Use a * in a word or phrase to indicate a partial match.

The search tool works just fine in my experience. If people can't be bothered to learn how it works, they can use a google search of the forums, which works just about as well.
