Update the Manual Images
Maybe updating the manual images would help a bit. It would require a lot of screenshots to be retaken, but it's well worth it. I noticed on a lot of other websites, when they update something, all their images are updated extremely fast (probably taken during testing periods).

i'll take a look at the manual, and if it doesn't seem like countless hours of work, i'll take new screenshots.
The manual needs to be completely rewritten, unfortunately, because it is currently written for the pre-PDA interface.
So taking screenshots is one thing, but the manual needs to be entirely rewritten. VO-wiki has screenshots for all the PDA tabs, though, so it might be easier for the devs to use those shots if they don't have their own.

I got mercilessly insulted by a n00b the other day when I told him there was no manual. He kept insisting there was a manual, "it's on the website asshole stop bing a jerk."
He clearly had never actually read it. The whole thing needs a rewrite once the major game mechanics are in place.

I think that's the issue at the moment - it's difficult to write a manual when everything is in flux.
I agree that an accurate manual is needed, but I don't want the devs to spend time on it now if they're just going to change it again next week.

Rewrites take up a lot of time, but they're well worth it and can take up less time if a team is built and assigned different tasks.

It would have to be a team of volunteer players working on the wiki.
Maybe just replace the Manual link with a link to the wiki? The wiki is very well maintained.

There are reasonably up-to-date HUD, PDA and Station Interface screenies on the wiki. I know because I took them. :P
Is the Wiki run by Vendetta Online?
If not, why rely on it? It might crash.
If yes, nevermind about this thread.

One of the Wiki's admins is a Guide, so technically, yes, VO-Wiki is kinda run by Guild, if only by proxy/extension.
If we see something wrong, we fix it. As one of the other admins, I check several times daily to see what changes have been made and if there's anything that needs to be changed (or reverted, in the case of some edits).
It should be noted that the manual located on this website was last updated when the mining system was introduced in November 2004. It was never updated for the new user interface, and it hasn't been updated to account for a variety of other new data. VO-Wiki, on the other hand, is updated constantly.
