I mentioned this in another thread, but it wasn't too clear or particularly relevent there so I have created a new suggestion.

What I would like to see is the opportunity to personlise the bar area so when you are chatting in there it feels like your own space.

This could be implemented by basically displaying an uploaded jpeg as a background or providing a set of wallpapers to choose from (perhaps some wallpapers could be rewarded for missions, etc.)

To make implementation simpler, perhaps the wallpaper/skins would only be visible if you are in a group or guild? I am a big fan of personalisation and it could work as a very simple way for players to contribute to the game directly with minimum of effort required by the devs?

Ok, been playing VO for a little while now and realise this was a rather simplistic request that is already being dealt with in the overall skinning concept.

What I was trying to suggest was owning your own real estate that you can decorate and invite people to. This could be a room on a station or an entire station (I know the player owning station thing has been suggested to death, so don't worry about pointing this out to me ;-) ).

This could work for "in game" clan meetings, giving a sense of "presence" to the meetings.

I believe this is something EddyHolland touched on in his economy threads. I just wanted to seperate it out.
