The New Notifications

Jul 18, 2007 MSKanaka link
The new notifications really don't look very good. They're too over-done, and are not very congruous with the rest of the chat system.

Please change them back to the way they were before, or at least provide a toggle so that we can use the old versions if we want to. If there's a way to change it back with config.ini, the exact syntax would be appreciated as well. Here are examples:

-Channel Changes-
Old: [Sun Jun 3 21:29:29 2007] Channel 100 is active.
New: [Sun Jul 15 21:22:49 2007] [100] *** Channel 100 is active.

-Buddies Online-
Old: [Sun Jun 3 21:29:29 2007] Buddies currently online: IRC, Surbius Bondevo, #sigma
New: [Sun Jul 15 21:22:50 2007] *** Buddies currently online: IRC, Mecha Touriuas, Spellcast, #sigma, momerath42

-Buddy Logon/off-
Old: [Sun Jun 3 21:35:05 2007] Your buddy Mecha Touriuas logged on.
New: [Sun Jul 15 21:24:14 2007] *** Your buddy momerath42 logged off.

[Sat Apr 7 03:08:09 2007] Chello-Ro Koshalis, (Council & Lieutenant) Solra Bizna

Copy this into config.ini: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/1/16973
and remove the ***s.
EDIT: don't know about the extra [<channelid>] things though, I don't have those...

The stuff from that thread was already in my config.ini.

Removing the ***s would be only half-effective because for the channel activation message, there's no [<channelid>] in the appropriate line to remove. Also, the /guild list output does not have a setting in the config.ini area. Note that the MOTD message when you log in is *different* from the one you get from typing /guild list.

Never mind. Browser contamination.

Moral of the story: don't copy and paste important text from Camino. Ever. Use Safari.
