I really think that there should be some sort of system that allows you to transfer money between your characters without the need for a third party or dropping cargo. Something like the money exchanging system in WoW...

I like that characters are separate entities that must (or ought to) be able to earn a living on their own.

Well, there could be a mailing system in VO like in WoW.

Players can send anything they want to another even a alt.

You could create another account and log that in via another machine. Xfer $ to him, then log in your other character and xfer back - be your own middle man.

Back in the olden days, there was a very altruistic fellow who coded an entity known as BountyBot. At first, it would only allow people to place ridiculously high bounties on other players' heads that were never claimed, due to the fact that the kill had to happen in a certain sector to be recorded (kills used to be announced via sector chat). Later on, the altruistic person (I still can't remember his name. I'm sure Verd could help me out) added the banking option. No interest, not negative numbers, just money storage, accessible to one single account (i.e. 6 chars).

My guess is this would be possible as a player-driven thingamajig, no need to hassle the developers.

Having it accessible 24/7 isn't the problem, the problem is that it would be located only in one sector in one system unless you built up a network of banking bots. Which, unless you're paying for a number of accounts, would have very poor coverage.

Actually, if it was non-profit, I think the devs might just grant it prema-status.

Steve, that would not necessarily be a bad thing. Just recently, the fact that there were little 'choke points' in the game was bemoaned to some extent. This would create one. Perhaps make it in Corvus space, so people can be pirated.
