custom decals

Jul 05, 2007 WaveClimber link
It might be cool, or lame if you wish, if you could put like a custom picture on your ship or something like ww2 planes had pictures of broads. Guilds could have one that only their guildmembers have and you could identify people easily. It would help add some character to everyone's ...err characters. It's just a little boring looking at 10 black vultures.

"ship decals"

While I agree this would be cool, I seriously doubht it would be all that visible at 500m.
What if the decal, in addition to being on the ship, also showed up for a background behind the ship data in the top right corner?

To make sure there were no offensive decals, they could all be made from ~150 components and ~100 colors (like the ship colors), where you get to pick a couple of components, a color for each and a background color?
Think "Guild Wars Guild Emblemer"

Been posted, and like before, the answers remain the same:

1. Devs are working on more important stuff.

2. People will abuse this feature, so screening will have to take place in order to stop it, so either people will have to be hired for this (increasing the cost of actually running the game) or the existing team will have to take time off the important stuff to do this.

So for all this, no thanks. When decals come online (many many years down the line) have them all be Guild Inc.-created ones.

I don't think screening would be that hard, especially if it were implemented like Demonen said. You could just have a "Report Obscene Decal" button or something, and the devs/guides/players-trusted-to-do-this would just check them out.

Yes, because such a system cannot be abused with phony reports, taking time first from investigating the allegation, and then from punishing the prankster.

Xbox Live has such a system, and most of the delay is due to investigating the claims. So trust me, that is not a real solution.
