Population ?

Is it me or are most of the zones dead(population wise) ?

I for one would like to see most sector have a constant influx of NPCs...pirates, UIT, Serco, Itan, etc.

More trade convoys, police patrols, pirates. I would love to zone into a sector and see an NPC dog fight between a serco patrol and pirates or between a Serco patrol and an Itani patrol.

The cap ship fights are GREAT but I think that individual ships need to be added to that fight as well as the zones.

Serco miners in a sector are mining and guarding them is small wing of Serco patrols...pirates or Itani patrols come through the area and a dog fight insues.

Now I am not saying that there should be constant fighting 24/7 in every sector but it would be nice to see dog fights that one could participate in...and not just cap ship fights.

I think that would also add to the PvP aspect of this game. Lets say I am traveling through a sector and come across a fight between Serco and Itani patrols I could jump in on the Itani side and then some Serco players zone in and see this fight they would jump in as well adding to the fun.

And in grey space I guess there would be a presence of all the factions including Corvus and it's patrols.

Let me know what you all think. Somone mentioned to me the potential to creat this via the PCC but I was under the impression that the PCC was just for mission creation.

We are definitely working toward a busy universe, populated by players and npcs. The recently released escort missions are tied together in a realistic economy, albeit with some temporary static or random elements to fill in areas we're not done implementing. Apart from bug-fixing, this week I've been working on a design for npc mining and defense of mining (and other) sectors. With that and tech-tree based production in stations (npc-only at first), we'll be a long way toward a 'living' universe. I can't wait!!

Thanks for the heads up.

I have been playing this game for several weeks now ans I must say although some might find this game a tad bare I will be sticking around b/c the content that IS currently in place is done so well that I want to be part of whats coming next.

The population is low because Dr. Lecter ate everyone a few months back, we're just now recovering from the population crash.

every once in a while serco and itani convoys will get into a fight if they get too close to eachother. other than that, try the pvp, its really fun once you get into it.

Something tells me this game is going to get much more difficult with the fluctuating economy and ability to purchase certain things only at specific stations.

Yeh... I'm already having trouble with that now!
You know can't find a rag mkII in grey space? Just mk III's. But I want the mkII. o_O
Several problems like that with weapons, too...

I think that there should be some kind of search engine to find where something is being sold when things start being sold in different places all the time.
