simple I suppose...an event (x times a week) where in two more experienced pilots engage in combat. the match is made public in advance, others may bet on it and or watch the combat. all money is divided between the winners, except 10 to 25 percent of the pot going to the winner of the fight.

at the very least it would give some more depth to the game by adding "recreational events". at best it would be a help to the economy.

and why not newbie fights too? those would mostly just be funny, but I am willing to bet that every so often one would be amazing.

I would think the best way to go about this, is to do it yourself Ryan. Get you some capital and start setting up bets. You could use the forums to setup your games. Come up with all kinds of games and story lines. Bets on Racing , how many bots killed in x amount of time , player vs. player etc. The devs could even actively try and bust it up , unless your in Grey space. Create your own illegal gambling Den.

We have player-run events like this already... heck, I think someone made some helio on that fight I had with spidey the other day >.>

actually I figure unmoniterd UIT space would be good, as UIT is all about free trade. as for me running it, I would rather someone else just so I dont get accused of fixing the fights. but if no one else wants to, then I suppose I could try and set it up.

ok...since no ones takings this over, first round of pro fighting/gambling will be June 25 in Dau P-15. assuming I can get some big name pilots to fight. any volunteers? if I get enough I will consider doing a big group free for all and spectators can bet on the survivor.

My guild, ITG, tried one once with a great turnout given last-minute notice late at night. We rewarded the final winner of the tournament with a few million credits.

As i was reding this, i thought "hey why not be able to gamble on races too!". Maybe this could be like a weekly event or something?
