Practice mode

How about some sort of holodeck where pilots can hone their combat skills against high level bots for a small fee. This way we can practice against very high level bots, test new configurations, etc. without spending large amounts of money.

Maybe this would be good for the final game, but right now it is so ridiculously easy to get money that this seems a bit frivolous.

(just for the record I am the worst pilot ever and I have about a half million credits)

sui, you aren't the worst, I am. You have played from time to time, I had to sit it out for 3 months. I can tell you, it hearts, and it will be some exciting days after my coming back.

What isn't going to take a long time, by the way :D

cheers

Pavan: Based on my previous experience with MMORPG type games, if you have a 'practice arena' the tendency is for most people to spend most of thier time in the 'practice arena'. 9 times in 10 a new player will log on to the universe that the game creators have spent so much time creating, shout out 'Hello', and get the equivalent of echoes coming back to them. After a while they find that practice area has all the action, such as it is, then after a few days they rarely go back in 'real simulation' ever again.

So while it may sound like a good thing, in my experience it just kills the worlds game play to have a 'game within in a game' like that.

Soo... Someone locks themselves within a room to play a simulation within a simulation... Can you be *any* more detached? :P

How about tradeing for the whole hour it takes to buy a nights worth of cents, and then playing.

--Try to find some members of other nations willing to duel with inexpensive equipment, you can learn a lot. Dont be afraid to try new theorys, in my experiance this has helped a lot.
