how to balance the GBoD
see the power in the glowing balls of death is the fact they all fire at once doing alot more damage in a very short amount of time to fix this just make them in a chain fire mode
1 it would be harder for teradons to take down shields
2 it would be just so godamn awsome

The Teradon is a destroyer. The role of a destroyer, usually is to be quick and very powerful in a smaller package. The tradeoffs are lighter armor.
Those anti capship weapons don't need a nerfing. The HAC just needs a buffing/unique role.

true but i really wanna see the GBoD to be chained
also, id expect something as big as a cappy to be very expensive and if the glowing balls of death can take out any cappy at their current speed its just a waste of resources, i think we should slightly buff the all cappy armor, and nerf the glowing balls of death slightly
Look at it this way...
You have the capability to put some awesome weaponry onto a large capship, but instead you put it onto a smaller, faster, more lightly armored ship.
The faster, more lightly armored ships then easily destroy the slower, larger ships without this weaponry.
What military general in his right mind would build these kinds of HAC ships? It would be like building aircraft carriers without the benefit of AEGIS or antimissile defense. A couple of 1980's vintage exocet missiles could take out an aircraft carrier at that point.
Logic dictates that:
a) the larger ships should have so much armor as to be well-protected from the GBoDs or have some kind of point defense system against them.
and
b) they would have these weapons as well.
Also - why do Serco and Itani HAC's look the same? That would be like 1990's era American and Soviet aircraft carriers having the same specs as well as the same shape, capabilities, etc.

The shields of a teradon are wicked easy to strip which counters their uber weapon. The other problem is that none of the other ships have good ship to ship weapons. So add some ship to ship missiles or my Super Laser to these ships and then we have a typical destroyer and a true HAC otherwise at the moment all an HAC is is a Super Trident and we don't want that. The Trident sucks, a Super Trident then logically Super Sucks.
The HAC docks fighters. HAC + Support > TPG + Support. Modifying the defenses, or weapons of either ship would throw off this system.
Just as an FYI, I did all sorts of firing-rate testing when I originally created the GBoD. Having a whole lot of them onscreen is a very, very slow thing, even on a fast computer. It's a pretty graphically intensive effect.
Thus, they shoot slowly and with great power. I wouldn't worry too much about "balancing" them against the HAC or anything else.. pretty much all the capships *other* than the Teradon are due to have their weapons reworked before we really start to see capship battles playing a major part in the game universe, and as people are pointing out.. some of them will be suited for particular "fleet roles". There's also several other capship-specific weapons that I intend to have play a part. But, there's also some performance concerns, server-side, network and client-side, that need to be sorted out.

Wow, Inc posted so I have to.
Stop whining about capships guns, its not nice! At least capships do something, hows about we trust the devs and let em work on what they are working on for now. Cap ships - while great - are far in the distance...
