jump starts
What about this. When a character dies in space their ship doesn't explode but becomes incapable of operation and just sits there then the pilot has the opportunity to ditch the craft and return home or ask for a jump start from another player, another use for repair module. Jumpers could charge for the service (another way to make money for the non-violent) and it could save people from loseing things that they have worked hard to aquire, hive equipment for example. Just a thought your input would be appreciated.

its not a bad idea, the ship is disabled...but ultimately it would be up to the person who disabled them weather or not to fire that "killing shot"
Um, no. The only half-way useful part about death is that I at least deprive the victim of (1) their ship, (2) any nice equipment they have on it and (3) teh sweet sweet cargoey goodness inside.

No. I like explosions. Especially Serco ones. Especially SCP explosions.
I kind of like having that brief moment of "disabling", where your cargo is ejected and your ship is disabled, smoking and drifting. Perhaps other players can board you, kill you and then swipe your weapons and batteries.
But then we'd need space-towing services, grappling beams, boarding parties, etc. Gets complicated quickly. Not that the idea itself isn't cool.
