Smoother Transitions from Stations
This not a big deal, but it would be nice to have this “feature” eventually. This is for the people who will start complaining that this is a worthless idea. The developers wanted ideas and I am proudly giving it to them.
When I play any game, loading screens take away from the immersion of games, but they are a necessity. Going from the menu to plopping oneself into a game quickly, does not help players to immerse themselves into the atmosphere. For example, in netKar Pro (Racing Simulation), you start from the garage. You can get out of the car and walk around the garage, see your car while the engine is off or on and look around the car. You decide when to start the engine and roll off onto the track. It might sound insignificant, but it helps me to "pretend" I am there with this ability. After all, don't we play video games to play "pretend" like we did when we were kids?
To help with the immersion factor for Vendetta, I think when exiting stations it should show the human player loading into the space ship with a 3D cockpit view (Cockpit view has been suggested before). Then have the player start the engine with a computer voice announcing the status of the ship and fancy sci-fi lights. Next, the spaceship unhooks from a mechanism that was locking it in place in the hangar; finally, is put on a track. The track leads them to the opening bay doors with a visual and audible countdown and an engine winding up sound. I could see it in my head and wish I could describe it better. The player should be able to pan the view inside the cockpit while all this is happening to see the carious mechanical parts moving. All this thinking has my hyped up of what it would be like. Not many games focus on immersion, as I think they should.
When entering stations players actually have to land onto a pad, which takes their ships into hangars and does what I described above but in reverse.
I am finishing the trial of Vendetta now and I am loving the game so far (hence the many suggestions and boxed version purchase). I am about to read the whole back-story now. I could see the huge potential this game has and I am trying to help it stand out from all the other video games out there. I don't see why Jumpgate got higher reviews on Metacritic.com than Vendetta did. Post user reviews to help with the rating, which is at a perfect 10.0 so far!
Of course, having an option to skip these real-time cut scenes, for the people who just want to jump into the game, would be necessary for the people who don’t care for this feature.

Yep, this would be cool in the future.
this would cause alot more "how do i dock!?" questions
It would be almost the same procedure to dock, only with more immersion. Once a player goes near the landing pad, it can auto land and do the rest automatically. Including the turning off of the engine. Upon exitin the station, players would have to click on their 3D cockpit switch to switch on their engines (As in netKar Pro). The rest can be automatic.
If people did the darn tutorials before asking that wouldn't be a problem. It was easy for me to figure out, why can't other people do it? I admit though that the process of going from tutorial to tutorial could be easier. It's jumbled up with the other missions and not placed at the top of the mission board. Also, on two missions I experienced a bug where the mission did not update after I did what it told me. I had to abort the mission and redo the mission and then it was fine the second time. I did things out of order and the mission must not have recognized my inputs.

1) more animation means more time expended every time you undock. That adds up quickly. Docking and undocking quickly is important, especially when rearming to return to combat.
2) It has a lot of potential to get annoying if you can't turn it off.
As for the loading screens, some kind of better animation for those has been suggested before.

Cunjo, that is why I said this, "Of course, having an option to skip these real-time cut scenes, for the people who just want to jump into the game, would be necessary for the people who don’t care for this feature."
Sounds like X3. :P
If that's the case I want to try X3 out. I've never played it, but faintly remember reading about it. I'm downloading the demo to try it out. If anyone else wants to try the latest version of the demo (with hotfix), go here:

Out of interest, how realistic would it be to replace sector loading progress bar with an animation of a ship zooming through space for intrasystem jumps, and a ship going through a wh for intersystem jumps?
While I would love this, what would happen if another ship was near at the time. Would it disappear during the loading time?
I love the idea, and think it should be in the final game for sure!

Final Game? As far as I know, this game will never cease development as long as the developers stick to the game. They say that in the "Introduction" part of the manual.
I tried out the X3 Reunion demo and the graphics are really great. I haven't been able to toy around with gameplay much so far. I just wanted to quickly check it out. Will Vendetta be able to look that good eventually?
