Missles/Rockets explode when their fuel runs out
uh ..see title.
It could make those lower end missles interesting if they end up pretty close to the target when their fuel runs out and would look more realisticlerish.

I'm all for realisticerish. Nice.
Leber explodes when out of booze?
anything for fireworks.
i want this.
(though it's been suggested before).

hmmm, i don't like it. seems gratuitous. that's only my vote.
I like it.
as long as they make a *boop* when they do, i'm for it!
Explode? What if they just keep on coasting for a bit? Might make it more interesting...
cause explosions are cooler than coasting!
[stamp of approval]™
coasting... eh... what if they made like the space shuttle rocket booster?
when a rocket depletes it's fuel, it's last burst is uncontrolled and sends the rocket in a random trajectory before exploding.
ah. eye candy. we live for it.

Not just eye candy. Since the explosion radius is greater than the proximity detonation radius, this could be used as an offensive weapon. Fire at max range, and if the rockets miss, they still might do damage.
Hmmm, more range than rails, they would have.
Sense that makes, rockets are supposed to have more range. Hitting anything moving at max range is more of an art than a skill anyway... or a computer bot...
umm...considering that we are in space and that gravity is considered to be a weak force, surely the missile would just keep going when it ran out of fuel. I think having the missile explode when it runs out of fuel would have to be something which was done purely for safety reasons surely? Otherwise people wandering through space would end up randomly running into missiles which are cruising around waiting for something to hit.
Gravity, a weak force? Ah well.
upper case, why should the last burst be uncontrolled? I can see that it'd cause vibrations, but not that it would send the missile in a totally random direction. A cone of 90° would be suitable, off the top of my head.
That said, it would be fun to have them coast for a bit, say, 2 seconds, in the direction of the vector they had when the fuel ran out, then explode.
