Even in the new UI, it's very awkward to equip a ship. All that clicking shouldn't be necessary, what about this:

As you enter the "configure" screen with an empty ship, the "first" port is selected. Then all you have to do is double-click the item you want to equip. Then the next port is automatically selected, and so on. That would make re-equipping ships a breeze compared to now.

I agree. I think it should be more like the group tab where there's no "Equip" button, but rather you click on the item, and you click on the space and it equips it. Also then it would auto-highlight the next item down on your unequipped items list.

Hmm. will take it under advisement. I agree, it's awkward now and could use improvement.

in defense of the current ui, the presets are there to make one-click shopping possible.

(hey! doesn't amazon have a patent on that?!)

The presets could use labels. I can never remember what I set them to be...

At least make it so that you can see what was preset without having to buy the ship.
