falls out of chair laughing!!! sorry... completely irrelevant but that deserved credit!
But well that would let rude people like DrLecter keep on talking like they want.
They'll do anyway.
Today the [edit- "This area is meant to be a positive place for constructive discussion of the game. Flames and other rude behaviour will not be tolerated. Offenders may have their accounts deleted. If you have a suggestion about the game, we would love to hear it. If you disagree with someone, please keep it good-natured. Thanks." - RR] threatened physically another player. The "law" that has been put down was to lock the thread, so he could keep the last word.
Fantastic.
you must be 18 to have a credit card
I had my first VISA at age 14. And anyway, you can pay with your bank account, which has no age restriction, to my knowledge.

i don't think being 18 warrants anyone to be needlessly rude, out of character.
i'm willing to deal with abuse in the rp forums provided it's done in-character. anything outside that context becomes harassement.
i dont think anyone has done serious math in this regard. how much abuse must vo take from one paying abuser to make a paying victim cut off his account? how much victims does it take to wash off any guilt of cutting off a paying abuser?

Today [Lecter (it's just not as funny without the misspell)] threatened physically another player.
Syylk, O' yea of little legal knowledge... or perhaps just poor reading comprehension.
AJRimmer said, referring to me, "about lekturn[...] if someone talked to people like that face to face, they would soon be in a casualty". In doing so, Mr. Rimmer implied that had I exercised the freedom speech to his face, he would put me "in a casualty." That's a threat of violence (if a poorly articulated one) in retaliation for protected speech.
Dr. Lecter replied "[insulting name I'll not reproduce for RR's mental health], I'd not only be happy to insult your clearly lowbrow self in person, but I'd likely follow any physical escalation on your part...".
Now, in case the cut & paste plus underlining didn't make that dim little light-bulb go off above your head yet, let me put it in small words. I merely stated that I would be happy to repeat my words in person and, if attacked because of them, that I would defend myself.
To say nothing of the fact that the hypothetical nature of my statement prevents it from being a legal "threat", I hardly think saying that one would defend one's self is at all threatening, legally or otherwise.

*bangs head on the wall*
Well this was exactly waht I would of liked to avoid

Hey, yell at Syylk... he started it ;)
I'm not yelling at anyone, nothing gives me that right. I just can't understand why you guys need to resort to crusing just to get you point across.
I mean okay you want to insult Syylk, but by cursing like a drunken sailor you also annoy me and a number of other people who hear more than enough cursing through out the day and don't really want to have to deal with that in a game as well.

Um, in case it escaped you, Syylk made a pretty stupid spelling error when he called me a [edit-reference deleted - RR]''. Far from actually cursing at him, I was poking fun at his inability to type correctly. Are you really so slow that you didn't catch the duplication of his spelling error in my otherwise polished post?
"Everybody must get stoned"
"Miners will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes"
"You're getting me so hot..."

Oh well, it was a good thread while it lasted...
I still like this idea. No one's gonna get sued over it, it'll be relatively easy to implement I would think, and it will make mining just slightly more fun. Hell, anything would be better. Heh.
Before Dr. Lecture threatens to beat someone else up (hehe), or correct someone else's grammar (heavens), let's release this suggestion off into the wild blue yonder of Suggestion-Forum obscurity...

Me? At least mine was conditional and predicated on self-defense, Mr. "Bloody Chiclets" :P
wrecking threads all the time....shouldn`t Lector be banned by now ?
Yawn. Nice to see a cogent rejoinder to my point. Oh wait.
I just love the saying "bloody chiclets." That's exactly what it feels like, BTW.
Anyway, Let's be able to change the asteroid description! Yay for user content!

i would be happy with paintballing the asteroids to find them again
And this thread suddenly merges with this: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/15944
Rimmer's point about something being marked may not require a navbeacon, though.
Turns out, if you undock from a station and there's a dozen types of ore floating around within 5000m, and your hit 'target next'... you will always start on the floating crate of Heliocene.
So, there's already a prioritizing system in place. It just needs to be applied to roids.
Player marks Roid X in Sector Y. Upon entering within 5000m of Roid X, the first thing targeted by a 'target next' command should always be the marked roid.

Lecter say this
"We just did that, you Vulcan shagging nit. We're now talking about how the text box thing could be tied to marking roids for later finding. Try to keep up."
You are my robot. 3,2,1,go.

[Nice job of editing out your former and totally useless remarks. Got anything to add on the further uses of roid tagging/naming/marking, you pointy-ear loving Captain type?]
