Goverment Creation
I propose that certain power hungry people with high enough lvls can decide to make their own nation with taxes (Planet required.)Say some rich trader armed with money and a Monocle can lease a planet from the local goverment introduce colonist to the enviroment start a civilization renew the lease get, cash from the colonist use that to build factories to wage war with some body else lease the surronding area for further development but restrict them to a certain amount of space so they dont buy the whole galaxy, ect (and i would like some that have more detail instead of smooth surfaces).
Player owned stations are already planned, I doubt player owned systems will come into existance, at least, not unless a LOT of new systems are added, which I doubt considering the work invulved and the lazyness of the Developers.
saddly on my part your probably right
laziness of the developers?
wtf?
wtf?
Wow. Laziness is a very low comment considering that the developers have been operating on a shoe string budget, there are only four of them, and that they only have a gazillion other things they want to add to the game.
Consider, too, that development has been quite rapid over the past few months.
What a rude comment - and to think that he went on to actually request a Halloween event in another thread. It's such a ludicrous statement that I begin to doubt he was serious - but it's not a helpful thing to say to a new player.
Back on topic: Yes, player-controlled stations are planned for the future. Owning a system and running it like a SIM-planet would be interesting, but I think what VonCuddles is describing is more of a separate game in it's own right rather than a viable addition to Vendetta.
VonCuddles: you'd like some WHAT that have more detail instead of smooth surfaces? Planets?

I think he meant the factories, FM.
Sorry yes that was typo on my part but what about asking people to become moderators help out in the game devolpment or is that also a completely useless idea?
VC, there's this thing called punctuation. It makes reading much easier. Please use it.
As I understand, the developers are already planning to add exploration to the game, and with it a virtually limitless number of systems that could be player or guild-owned. However, I don't see this as a 'sim-universe' scenario. Exploration itself will not be coming sooon(TM) due to the number of more important things the developers are working on in the game. Adding such planet-management simulations would be a great amount of work for an even less-important goal, so I don't think it will be coming anytime in the forseeable future.

STOP CALLING GUILD SOFTWARE POOR!!!!!
what's wrong with you guys?!?!
understand that there are better answers than "shoe-string budget" and "surviving on our monthly subscriptions, working in mommy's basement"
for god's sake, they are developing the most important items in a prioritized fashion. player owned stations is not high on that list. that you'll have to deal with. i think the "search" feature in the forums is one knotch higher on that list.

There's nothing wrong with us. GSW isn't rich. That is why every single subscriber counts, or at least that's what I gathered from what little I overheard the devs say about it.
Of course, "shoe-string budget" should not be taken as an insult. Shoe string budgets ussually create the best media. Firefly, Star Wars (the original), Mel Brooks films, Princess Bride, all shoe-string. Low budgets force people to get creative and come together. Like these films, VO doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but she definately has it where it counts.
Guild asked me to help out with their game devlopment I said yes,I am providing suggestions that I believe would further the game experience and enjoyment. And when I do post some thing people find every single negative idea about, it a shout it out. not only does this annoy me but you people seem to have a hard time grasping this.(I do not want this to be taken as an attack against the players and subscribers of Vendetta Online just trying to add some decency into this thread)
Hahahaha.
"Laziness of the Developers."
Good one, Blades. Kinda like saying "Tactfulness of LordofBlades"
Cuddles has a point. What he proposes would be kickass. However, I think the implementation of such a thing would take so much time that it would be impossible to do without hiring on more staff. Heck, they're only 4 guys.

It might help if we label our ideas short term or long term.
Short term ideas are things that we'd like to see and we know that it is possible to implement soon. Long term ideas are things that we know is unrealistic at the moment, but we'd like to see in the long run. Long term ideas have their place, though they may be pipe dreams. The devs do have a vision, and keeping game play focused is important to keeping the game fun.

...
I was joking...
I'm well aware that the dev's have been working their asses off, and I appericiate that to no end, despite the fact that virtually no playable content has been added. Which is why I want to add playable content myself, and which I will hopefully be able to do, and do well.

Hey, I made some new missions lately. That's something. <sigh>.
Anyway, getting back to the original point, I don't think user-governed sectors are infeasable at all. The whole "exploration" addon is supposed to feature a very large number of new sectors (the existing space was supposed to be the 'core' of a much larger exporable universe. If the 'core' is 7,681 sectors.. well.. yeah). Allowing users to set up their own fiefdoms in the outer ranges of space, dealing with whatever dangers might exist there.. that'd be pretty great.
But not likely to happen in the immediate future. Our priorities are focused more on the center of the game right now, and probably for the next half-year. Lots of new content is intended during that time, but not this specific content.
