Repulsor field-- Prevents ships from getting within a certain distance (for an incredibly high energy cost). Different versions of the field could repel larger/smaller ships. A Moth could bust through a low-level field easily, but a Cent would have trouble.

Newton's Third Law would be effective, if a Hog was generating a high-level field, a Moth could just bump up against the field and knock the Hog halfway across the sector.

Wouldn't want to turbo at a station with one of those on, would you? XD

I think that Comm Iso device is not a bad idea,
but it should be more like a long range beam weapon.

Perhaps a hit will scramble your com for 5 (or 10) seconds?
Or it is not long range, but you will have to keep your
opponent as target locked, and into a given max range.

As long as the collision was mostly (if not totally) elastic I don't think there would be a problem.

Xang Xi seems to be getting the short end of the stick here. For a supposedly military-oriented corporation, they don't have much in the way of equipment.

Xang Xi has lower license requirements than any other faction except Corvus.

Hello again, it was a couple of months since i last played Vendetta..

Anyway. This game lacks so many devices and types of equipment for your ship and other things.

For instance. Scanners and Radar, ECM and ECCM. This would be really neat i think. Imagine you we're able to have a gizmo to render your ship invisible on the radar or impossible to target.

But your opponent can deploy ECM (Electronic Counter Measures) to counter act your jammers and scramblers etc. So beeing the pain in the ass that you want to be you take it one step further and deploys your ECCM, to confuse his/hers ECM equipment.

I also see sheild boosters, sheild fast chargers and reactive armour, polarized armour, and magnetic generators on the ships to milder the effects of some weapons and so forth.

Other cool stuff to outfit your vessel with could be booster rockets that burn out fast but gives you an insane amount of speed in a short time.

I really like how the new line of ships that come out look, and so on but what if you devs could take ship custumisation and fitting to a whole new level? I don't have so many favourite colors you know ;-)

Oh, and where are the autocannons and Machine guns? I see no impossibility of deploying such "low tech" but powerfull and trustworthy weaponry in space. Weapons of this type i think should also be able to utilize diffrent types of ammunition, like armour piercing and so forth.

Mhhh, now that you mention it, more solid-projectile weapons would be fun. The need to reload would make their use somewhat interesting, and they could fit special purposes, maybe even use some special 'mining' grenades or remote explosives to soften up that rock and speed up extraction. Also nice against capships if you can get them to attach.

Solid projectiles would also change their targets course on impact. The heavier the projectiles the harder they smash into you, gives you a bumpy ride :)

What would also be believable would be some kind of automatic railgun, just like the existing ones, only faster fire rate, lower energy drain and lower speed, though still somewhere about 300m/s, and of course... more ammo.

Meaning you'd be even heavier until you sprayed it all?

countermeasures would be fun... as well as reactive/ablative armors

claoking device only if it didn't work while the ship was in motion or firing weapons (and still showed them on the radar as a neutral object while cloaked)

Correct, it'd would make travelling a chore until you sprayed it off. You'd have to travel very slow, or not at all, and forget about firing weapons! Hmm, kind of like a certain trinket you just mentioned, Dihelical Synthesis...

i think i read yours james but i was thinking about the awesome idea of owning a sector, station, battle group, and having a black hole randomly appear. do u know how much coding and thought that would take? AND WHY ARE U WRITING ON CHRISTMAS??? happy fucking tidings...

Ion Engine Booster: s-port addon that grants an additional 5 m/s to your top speed when in an ion storm. Effects stack with multiple boosters.

(alternately, each booster grants an additional 5 N of thrust)

I really like the solid projectile weapons idea, as it would be nice to have a reloadable weapon with:
1) A manageable reload cost that's much less than missiles (it's only pieces of metal, for God's sake)
2) A direct-fire weapon that uses no battery, 'cause if any add-ons that drain NRG are added, it would be near-impossible to fight with energy weapons.
3) Anything cool I may have forgotten

It would be up to someone else with better judgement of how all the numbers in the game work, or a complete write-up of all the weapons and their statistics (which would be cool to have, and helpful for the suggestion process).
And for the science-y part of it, the weapons could be propelled by energy-efficent (to the point where there is no drain on energy from your ship) electromagnets which accelerate the projectiles to game-like speeds, near or above that of energy weapons (remember, I'm not the one to ask about numbers). I apologize if there's already a thread on this.
