Wormhol e Nexus (new PVP/event system)
If there was a system, bang in the middle between Uit/Serco/Itan, with one WH to each nations space, it would be useful for events like NW etc, racetracks etc.
My thoughts...
One-way WH's(like an Ion Storm, only allowed to go back where you came from) to prevent short cuts.
No stations (space is too unstable for construction)
No FF restriction, due to lack of faction comms (again due to unstable space)
No unbots, hive etc
Flame away...

I really don't know why we need this. Also, some confusion here. If the wormholes are one-way (I assume you mean out), how do you get to this system? If the space is too unstable (unstable how?) for construction, how do ships (which are constructed) survive there? How would this be useful for nation war, racetracks, etc., and why do we need such a thing, especially for nation war?
I would like to see a bigger, more tangled web of systems/wormholes, and I believe the universe will be expanding at some point in the future.

I think this has been suggested before, and the general opinion was that although the universe is a bit large at the moment, it would be immensely difficult to introduce a new route, and as such it is nearly impossible to do right now.
Let me see if can expand some on this, (leaving aside the technical issues) first, why?
Last night on #100 there was a new player, who's name was a ships designation code type of thing, he was interested in the bus war if i remember correctly.
All well and good, but how is a new player in a bus going to get his ship to the bus war sector, with all the unbots, ion storms etc? The guy had a snowballs chance in hell!
If we want new players to feel involved, right from the start, IMO the areas where events take place should be easily accessible to new players too!
Or, take a more experienced player, coming online a few minutes before an event (not everyone visits these forums regularly, if at all), everyone in the event has to wait for him to arrive. A central area used only for events would alleviate both of these problems.
Chaos: One way wormholes, obviously have to lead in, or the sector will always be empty and totally usesless ;)
I likened it to an Ion Storm, just because thats how they strike me, once your'e in there, you cant just jump on, it requires moving to the exit point to leave. I'd like to see a "fixed" exit point, that returns you back to the WH sector that you originally jumped in from.
The "Unstable" space could be down to the proximity of very long wormholes from each nation's capital and TBH,or gravitational tidal effects destroying large structures, where small objects like ships would remain unaffected. Said destroyed structures could make for an interesting enviroment. Roids would also be unaffected.
A question for the devs...
If this was just a small area the size of one sector , rather than a new star system would the server load for this sector be lower allowing for BIG Cap Ship battles etc?
i think thats explained my reasoning a little better.

so what you are really looking for is an arena.
it would be smarter to have this arena accessed by Nyrius/Itan/Pyronis and then locked during off times.
that way, you'll have three access points from all the nations. to be honest, the one exit really doesnt matter, usually you are in the events to die, not retreat.
but to keep the trade runs the way they are now, locking these three WH's during off hours (more acurately only open during event hours) would be beneficial.

TBH i was avoiding the word "arena" before someone makes the "Quake III" comment...
But, yes, it's as good a word as any :)

Who's going to unlock if no devs or guides are around?

I'd rather just see capturable stations/sectors/systems, so that nation war isn't just roleplay and causes changes. As for arenas, the only reason we need something new is because, as you pointed out, sometimes it's hard for newbies to make it through grey space because they get blasted by inconsiderate NPCs. What I would rather see than some new system put in place is in-game cooperation to promote PvP with newbies. An in-game event, with a predecided time and place where there are no bots, and perhaps a few veterans could gather a group of newbies and escort them to the event. Then, capture the cargo (cargo to replace a flag, not to be confused with CtC), free for all, team warfare, etc. whatever. There would have to be an agreement for no faction bickering on the way, keep newbies vs. newbies and vets vs. vets, and get rid of friendly fire for this to work.
Basically, this (barring a couple details such as FF) is something we can do ourselves, without adding a new arena system.

It would be better if this arena was accessible not via wh, but via some command /warparena from everywhere
But anyway... This place will gather all the trolls from the Universe in first hour of its existence, so using it will be impossible for most of the time

Why would the fact that such an arena would be a troll magnet (it probably would be, maybe not) make it unusable? I say, lure them there and shoot 'em all up when they're in one place! Out troll the trolls.
Because troll are good at what they do?
Also about that Arena, what about going back to get more ammo? I sure as hell rely on my flares...

For ammo, how about two or three mini-stations that are neutral and little more than munitions depots?
I'm with chaos, Ammo Depots, or Armouries
I think it would be cool if each nation had an out of the way, not likely to be overrun by hive sector with an interesting setup of obstacles (asteroids, debris, etc.) for games and tournaments. Various guilds and governments could sponser events (bus war, CtF, etc.) with different divisions based on skill and stuff. Everyone would want to set the armory as their temporary home station, and FF would have to be gone, and the sponsor of the game could provide prizes to the winners if they want to. The only major thing Guild would have to do is put the sectors in place and turn off FF, the rest would all be player driven. This would solve PvP's apparent "painful death" and encourage player cooperation, give newbies a place to practice fighting, and could replace CtC as a major gameplay element (economy would also replace that). Players could get creative and come up with fun games, and kind of a Space X-Games could evolve. Race tracks could also be put here. There would be no need for this to be "unstable space" or an ion storm (though those could still happen) or one way wormhole accessible, since it would be an actual designated place for this, like a skate park. Each nation would get one, and if multiple nations want to cooperate for an event, they can go to the UIT one.
Slightly off-topic: If we ever get tractor beams, it would be fun to put them on small stripped-down fast fighters, and pull off some cool precision maneuvers as one thing to do in this arena sector. Formation flying kind of stuff.
