Change the Nation Colours
Ok I'm not really expecting this is something that people will embrace, given the history of this game and the small community..
...but:
While I realize there may have been some specific reason to choose the primary colours as the three different national standards, I personally find it to reduce the gravity of the situation. I can't help but think of kindergarten every time I look at the active players list.
I think that it may be good to keep two of the colours, but maybe throw in a complementary colour to mix it up a bit. Red, Yellow, and Orange..... Blue, Red, and Green..... etc.
Or! Just go nutz. Purple, Pink, and Fuschia!

I always did think that color-identification for nations/factions was a bit silly. It works, yes, but it doesn't exactly add a whole lot of atmosphere to the game. Keep the colors, perhaps - but have the main identifying signature be something else - like a symbol.
Just darken the red a litte, pail the blue a little and dirty the yellow?
The colors are fine, if toned down some.
Whenever I see a Serco I assume it hostile and react to evade, even if it's a clearly friendly one. My mind reads the red first, then the name. Serco-red = DANGER DANGER WILL ROBINSON
