suggestions regarding the new interface
these ideas weren't really bugs, so I started a new thread here..
1- rename the "Equipment" tab to "Ship" or "Your Ship"
2- move "Ship Cargo" to the renamed "Your Ship" tab, and "Station Cargo" to the "Commerce" tab, and relabel the bottom-row buttons to more easily distinguish the two... am I the only one who thinks these are out of place?

No, you're not. Actually, I like those moves. Good suggestion.

Reinstitute Station Chat. Dunno if that was left out on purpose or not.
I second moldy's idea.. also:
4- rename the "Commerce" tab to "Station"; giving "Station", "Your Ship", and "Your PDA" (or even just Station, Ship, and PDA)
5- I'm sure this is in the works as we speak, but I await the capship UI getting an interface overhaul, too..

6. Allow us to name the ship buy presets!!!!
7- allow us to skin those blue text highlights
Two things:
- To home to a station, you now have to go to the Commerce tab. ... Huh?
- Station chat, damnit. :) Was it intentionally removed?

Other suggestions-
Currently, you have to hit the "Maximize" tab in station chat to get to mission chat. Add a General button and a Mission button to the immediate left of the Maximize button.
Currently, whenever you enter a station or enter the Navigation menu while in flight, your chat is forced from mission chat to general chat. The chat window should remain consistent through these changes.
If you activate the chat cursor while in station or from the navigation menu in flight, pressing enter while no text is in the box will not deactivate it. There should either be a key to deactivate it (one of the Function keys I suppose, or Escape) or pressing enter should remove you from chat.
It would be nice to be able to navigate the entire control panel using keyboard only. You can currently do some things with keyboard only, but not all. With a combination of letters and arrow keys, you should be able to do everything there.
I get mouse lag while in the control panels. It gets pretty annoying sometimes. It'd be nice if the mouse completely disengaged from flight control while in the panels. Perhaps have an option that would cause it to do so either when the panels are open, while in station, or all the time.
Currently, you can't use the normal T, G, M commands to speak in specific channels while in station, as you can in flight. The checked boxes at the top are all you can use. It'd be nice if the chat keys still worked.
While chatting in station, it doesn't tell you what channel you are writting to, as it does in flight. It'd be nice if these were still present.
[Edit]
Correction. You can press the T and G buttons in the same way to talk on certian channels while in station. However, because you can't get out of the chat box without the mouse, I usually hit 'g', which sends me to group chat, then I have to go click on the channel I want to be in, rather than just hitting enter and pressing 't' or 'G' or whatever.

1 - It's not exactly just the ship. you can buy weapons and stuff without having a ship.
2 - I don't understand. There aren't 'Ship Cargo' and 'Station Cargo' tabs
- I moved 'Set Home Station' button to where the LAUNCH button is.
- There will be no Mission chat. That's why it isn't in the new chat area and that's why the chat is forced to general chat all the time.
- Pressing Escape in chat should deactivate the chat editbox.
- Mouse lag is probably due to displaying the station behind the interface. Turning off 'Show Station in Menu' should fix it.
- In the top of the station chat area, it shows you what channel is active.
- t,g,G,T will work in the new station/pda interface.

As I posted in the bugs thread, I hacked together a little mockup of how one might do station chat in the meantime until it's revamped entirely.
It might go better in another tab, say, Commerce, and on the right under a "Station" or "Bar" sub tab, but I put it where it was because it was easier to associate the bar chat with a "Comms" section.

yes, thank you.
Thanks for the info.
However, it doesn't show you what station is active. It tells you what # channel you will talk to if you talk to a # channel, but it doesn't tell you whether you are talking to the # channel, the group channel, the guild channel, etc.
As for the mission channel, right now it's really annoying, considering you have to talk on mission channel to do certian missions. Good to know it'll be fixed though. Until then, I'm back to the old interface.

Keep the suggestions coming guys. Sorry I'm not posting much (still busy with accident-related stuff), but I'm gonna be re-assessing a lot of this in the immediate future. Hopefully this weekend.
