But Seriously
WHO WANTS A GIGANTIC ASTEROID PIRATE BASE?!?!?!?!
It doesn't even have to be operational.
Just make a Gigantic Asteroid with lots of holes running through it *not cracks, tunnels*.
And then have corvus dudes flying around it in formation.
And that's all I've ever really wanted from this game.
Well.... that and ships.
Who cares about UI and all that junkeroo.

You mean like the hidden roid station back before the game went Gold?
Ask Miharu to show you the piccies!

I actually don't have any pictures of the old s10 station, but someone else like Roguelazer might. I'll poke around on his site. Watch this post for teh [EDIT] tag!

using namespace std;
int main() {
bool implemented = 0;
do {
cout << "I approve\n";
cout << "Has it been implemented?\n";
cin >> implemented; // Too tired to do exception handling. Just input an integer != 0 if yes
}
while (implemented = 0);

Or how about the wreck of a large, crashed, heavily damaged cap-ship-like vessel inside of a dense field of rocks and debris. Position the sector in the shadow of some planet for added gloom.
Then, make one docking bay of the eerie hulk still operational, turn on some lights in that section of the ship and there you have an awesome base for space vermin!
This is just one idea, I also like the tunneled asteroid plan described above. I think Vendetta badly needs more diversity in locations. Just look at the alpha/beta, they did it better in some aspects like:
-multiple stations in a sector
-hidden stations
-hidden wormholes were also cool
-(very) dark sectors
Another thing I kind of miss is a sector with the rocks spread out across a great number of klicks, but never farther apart then 1000m :) could make for some exciting missions, no easy escape when you're in the middle... sprinkle the area with bots or mines and then find the hidden relic, rescue the stranded trader, mine that unique metal, or whatever...
There's so much ways to make Vendetta space a fantastic place to explore, still hoping for more diversity in scenery and missions, keep it up devs! :)

I actually have had Luis working on various "derilect ship" debris and some new station concepts and the like.
The reason why we didn't have people flying inside of stuff more in the past was due to how our collision detection worked(works) and how extremely sub-optimal it was under that case. But it is something that I want. I meant, we do have the big carved-out asteroids here and there (the big two-piece thing). Or at least, they should be somewhere. I also made the big crystal-sphere thingie (sector 14 I think?). I would love a giant whole-encrusted asteroid with internal station.. I've wanted that for.. a really long time.
I have to redo a lot of the universe to make it less boring. But I'm up to my ears right now. So it'll have to wait a little longer. The UI thing is boring, but we need it. We need customers, and customers who don't immediately leave after becoming confused and frustrated with our ill-documented game.

Aye, s14 was awesome and I also agree with the UI, a good first impression can attract many people.
can't you just slap the sector ten station in somewhere? that'd be leet..
Corvus Prime has a ton of great streets inside it... :D
