What if the Valkeryie had ONE large port underneath insted of another small port?

Would this be madness? would it be choas? would it be over powered?

It would be NICE, even if all the other ports where tooken away jsut for one large port ill be happy.

I have a mega positron from my queen hunter badge, but I rarly use the mega posi cause its a fighter weapon, you could put it on a prom yes but did we forget the valk?

or wouldnt it be nice to have a swarmer on a fast fighter? It would be nice to have a large port for other reasons to.

now then your prob thinking wait a min same setup as prom? thats why you give the prom TWO large ports and one small to make it an actual heavy attack ship/fighter.

A Valk with a good pilot CAN go toe to toe with a prom and win. So can the IBG. It's all in who flys it, and how they fly it. Valk has superior agility over the prom, as does the IBG. They're a fairly even match given good pilots, which is the way it should be.

If you want 2 L-ports, fly a taur... the Centaur Agresso is almost as maneruverable and heavily armored as the prom, and it sports 2 L ports. Also, are you forgetting the warthog for a fighter with an L-port?

That is not quite true. Prom mkIII might be an almost even match for a very good pilot in a Valk, but any guy with basic practice in a SCP will win against a better pilot. Same with the IBG.

You would create a super speed swarm spammer toy. Or a super agt platform.

yeah, the swarm-spammer doesn't bother me as much as the AGT, that thing would be nuts... 2000 kg? that's less than most typical Valk layouts, and you can't increase AGT mass anymore without nerfing the hog. (Though, it could be fixed in other ways to promote, you know, AIM)

Itani valkyre is an interceptor class of ship.
As it is now , equipped with neuts and flares combo, it serves its purpose.
Potato shape, however, makes it eat neuts and agt fire like a moth.

Adding an L port on a valk will probably cripple her more.
Putting heavy agt on it or , god forbid, chaos swarms would be a total disaster.

As im told devs are reworking valkyre so maybe a new variant will be a bit better.
Lets wait and see.

I vote for goliath cannon ship: 1x ultra large port with 1 gazillion dmg per hit, hit range 3000m, 15 energy per shot, shot refire rate 0,15, mounted on IBG.
Total weight of equipped ship 4000kg.
There, would that make you happy?

Yes. Yes it would. There's always the easy (Celebrim would kill me for this) way to balance a ship- play with the price! If a valk costs a third as much as a prom, then you can afford to lose 3 to 1, right? :-)

The valk is the best ship in the game, as is. The prom is much more forgiving of impatience and limited tactics, but amoung the very best pilots, a valk will take a prom a majority of the time. Add to that the fact that there is no way a prom can catch a valk runner, and that a valk can jump multiple wormholes far faster than a prom. I have consistantly taken out proms using Valks, IBG, megahogs, Rags, proms, etc... but most of these same ships, or any other ship you care to name, can be taken out by a top valk pilot. Almost all post addressing the valk are about handicapping it, not adding features to it.
I luv the megaposi as much as every one else. It is the undesputed king of energy weapons. If you allow it on a light fighter, that will be all you ever see in combat.
Many MegaWorshipers use the Hog2 (for it's infini boost), with the small port being equiped with any variaty of weapons or even being left empty. (I prefer a minerial scanner myself.) I have mounted a megaposi on every lport ship in the game, including a moth (lets go levi hunting).
I would much rather see a new small port weapon that would put the megaposi into proper context.

idk if the valk is better than the prom, but the IBG could take it now that the Prom got a slight nerf.

I will take that challenge, and I'm not even a thoroughly experienced Valk pilot. I do however, have no doubt that I could best most prom pilots of comparable skill.

I agree with what TRS said - the prom has a lower learning curve, since it can take some punishment and spray without aim or skill, but once a pilot has dedicated some time to learning the valk, the valk is a far superior ship.

actually, if we were to take out the agt (i mean completely out) then the valk wouldn't feel so much like a fat potato and prom users would start learning to fly.

The Gattling Turrent Must Stay, or then the game becomes like wow then the game is no more fun but actually a job.

True a exp Valk pilot prob could go toe to toe agaisnt a "PRO"(Promethesus) but just for fun could the valk have the advantage?
