Atm we have science, commercial, mining and barracks.
Imho science stations could offer some special equipment /ships, weps, scanners, etc/ not available in any other station after completing a series of classified missions for them.
For starters it could be some new battery or a gun.

On the topic of station suggestions in general though I'd like to see station and wormhole sectors have ion storms again. This coming from a trader, mind you >_>

Something along this:
you take a highly classified mission for science station, they give you special ship, bat and wep, if you complete mission you can keep it.
Those ship/batt/wep cannot be bought, if you want more you have to take another mission.
For instance,/lets put raptor design to a good use/:
you get Itani Recon Raptor /250 speed, 54 drain, 3000kg, 2 S ports/, 2x lawgun and uc batt.
AS for mission, something like:
recon some unmonitored sector in Serco space for suspicious activities, destroy some ship there or pick an item found floating and report back.
oh, and P.S. : to avoid faction system exploiters, requirements for mission should be standing related: +900 Itani, - 650 serco.
Same rules apply to serco side.

Sounds good to me. I would love to see more faction based missions... as well as seeing unique items and ships attributed to those missions.

Also, the Devs have said missions where you're given special addons/ship just for the duration are coming.

how about a mission in research where you have to gather a certain amount of a different materials and after you get this amount the mission gives you a weapon that needs to be tested for research purposes. You then have to make 100 kills or so with it and once you have finished the long mission you get this rare gun and you are allowed to manufacture more of it. All you have to do is take the mission to manufacture the weapon and you get to chose whether you want to manufacture 1 5 10 or 20 guns and it gives you the materials you need to bring to that station.
So everyone does this mission and suddenly the gun is not so rare. And since killing someone who has it may get you one, not even everyone will be doing the mission.
