One Very Simple (re)Suggestion for Improved Immersion and Sense of Scale

tweak the engine sounds of different classes of ships.

Yes, it has been suggested before as a part of several longer threads regarding scale or capships.

Little fighters should have a higher engine pitch, while big ones like the moth should emit a heavy low rumble when boosting... right now, they all sound the same.

They actually use different frequencies, depending on the engine. But yeah, they could use some tweaking.

Regarding a sense of scale, I think I'd rather the ships actually be scaled to the lengths they supposedly have.

You tell me, is a moth three times longer ingame than a Centurion or Vulture?

No, it's not. But its stats say it should be.

I agree with Miharu again.

I'll try and put together a "scale" for the ship sizes at some point.

I was beginning work on that kind of thing about 6 months ago. It's a good idea. Show the ships the size they are SUPPOSED to be, and then measure them up ingame.

But yeah - different sounds is GOOOOOOD!

well, while that would be nice, it opens up the whole bucket of combat balancing again. If you make the cent disproportionately smaller than, say, the Ragnarok, the cent would eat the ragnarok in a fight almost 100% of the time, because it has a big target to hit, and the ragnarok does not.

I can readily agree however, that more variation in ship sizes would be nice, but then, we'd have to go through the whole moth-un-nerfing thing and start nerfing cents.

Cunjo,
or once we found out which ships' lengths weren't accurately represented we could just change the length stat in the ship descriptions.

so you could esily leave the cent the same size it is now (or make it bigger if you want) and then just change the larger ships like the moth.
