I was wondering if there were any plans to give us optional higher rez skybox backgrounds. The planets and models have some nice textures but the backgrounds can be a bit blurry. It would be nice to have the option of using a crisper more detailed set of rendered stary backdrops if your hardware can handle it. I cant imagine it would take that much work and it would really raise the wow factor a bit.

I think the backgrounds are pretty good as they are. The only thing that bugs me is that when you zoom in, the stars zoom in too (and get all blurry). :\

Yeah, I'd like to do some work on the backgrounds sometime soon, to jazz them up a little. I dunno when I'll get to it though.

Will you ever fix the problem with the skybox also beeing zoomed when fov is changed, or is that something that will stay?

What little I know of 3D programming tells me it's a very complicated thing to fix/change, so I'm not expecting it to happen until There Is Less To Do.
