UIT(-only) BP/BS - corporate wars!

May 11, 2006 thurisaz link
..here's a question for John; are the corporate wars still being fought?

if so, there's a nice way for the UIT to get in on the current BP/BS fad - maybe Axia-vs-Valent, TPG-vs-Corvus, Biocom-vs-Xang Xi

??

**edit: I think we've all been screaming for that, LordofBlades :D

I love this idea. Not only because I love combat, but because it add's a great way for UIT pilots to earn combat experience in a shorter amount of time. (Which I've been screaming for, unheard, from the start.)

A) Though the UIT do need some way to have more fun in combat, the short description for them says it all. They're a neutral trader nation. It's not supposed to be easy to get combat experience with them.

B) Having said this, there is supposedly behind the scenes corporate espionage and attacks against each other going on, behind the backs of the Senate and the TPG.

First, who would be better for corporate espionage, sneak attack, and other extralegal means than some independent pilot?

Second, since so many players are already in and around grey space, it would be more easily accesible to all players, not just the Serco and Itani. In fact, that might be a reason to try various options between the corporation before implemeting them on a larger scale between the Serco and Itani.

Well, from an RP standpoint, TPG is constantly on the lookout for another flare up of the Corporate Wars. If you've read your backstory, TPG single-handedly ended them, going against all the warring Corps at the same time, and is keeping an eye out trying to avoid a repeat.

So while a full-out war is at the moment not that feasible, some little pirate-like missions would be cool, like having Axia also post piracy missions on Valent escorts. Those would also make the Corp standings more fluid, since for most of us they stand (and stay) at admired or whatever it is we need to get the goods from them. Of course, some espionage missions do seem more Union centered. Small skirmish missions would be cool too, where you and some Corp buddies go against other Corp team, in an out of the way sector. Take too long to wipe them out, and TPG enforcers arrive, intent on breaking up the fight. Make them something real hard to crack, like maybe a large SF-type force backed by a very angry Teradon, so the pilot MUST flee. That way you have a mission in which you must take out as many enemy pilots in the time given, or face destruction (and failure) and maybe even faction loss with TPG (should you decide to attack its ships).

Corporate wars would kick large amounts of ass.
