A few of little suggestions

I signed up a couple of days ago and have been really enjoying the game so far. Theres a few of things that I've come across during my brief time here that I'd like to suggest.

1) Escort missions are great fun but it can sometimes be hard to see where/who the ship are that your trying to escort. It would be great if the escort mission ships were a different colour on the radar & sector list.

2) When trading the "Local items in demand" news thread is very useful. Can we somehow make it so we can select & copy the text from the news item so that we can copy the information to a text editor for referal. Its not a big important suggestion but it would make things a lot easyier to remember 5 minute later when you get to the next station and cant remember what the other station needed.

3) While flying around in grey space I've had a few encounters with the NPC pirates, theyre great fun and pretty chalenging for a new player like myself. Problem is if they attack me outside a station and i return fire the station guards attack me for it. Would it be possible to allow us to return fire without provoking the guards please.

4) Also related to the npc pirates, once youre in the wormhole animation npc can still blow you away. You cant return fire or manuver during that phase just watch your ship get poped. I can understand that its realistic so fully understand if you intend it to work the way it does but it can be kind of annoying watching your ship blow up after you've successfully run thier blockade only to blow up a split second before you change sectors.

Theres are just little niggles that I've spotted nothing I'd call game breaking, certainly wont stop me playing this great game.

edit: heh just realised my title is wrong "A few of little suggestions" was originally ment to be "A couple of little suggestions" then I realised 4 is more than a couple but didnt correct the english when I changed couple to few. doh! Need coffee....

The reason you can currently be damaged during wormhole animation is because when everybody was invincible during the animation it was abused.

Aye. I had a feeling it was intended for that reason, thought I'd raise it all the same just in case.

it wasn't abused so much as there was a strong anti-runner sentament in the comunity at the time the change was made.

the in system warp was abused as a means of destroying hive queens, but that had been fixked in another way before the warp vulnerability feature was added.

I don't want to go too off-topic in this, but isn't it about time that we have another in sector jump animation again? Can't we combine the old one with this one, I mean, make a less vivid version of this one, maybe in the lines of the jump in anim, and on the moment your ship would disappear, kick in the old anim, but without any collision detection and maybe with a bit of transparancy. I heard from a few new players that it's pretty confusing with the WH jump and sector jump anims looking the same.

I agree. I just haven't had a lot of time lately, and the effect that I wanted to do requires ray to make some changes to the effects system.. and ray hasn't had time either.

I could make some quick change for the moment, I guess.

"Successfully running" a blockade means getting to a jump-out/warp-out point far enough from the enemy that they don't obliterate you before you're clear.

lol true, its not mutch of a success if your vaporised.

Anyone have any thoughts on the other points I raised?

i believe your other points are fairly universily agreed apun and many of them have been tagged as "when the devs have time" or "comming soon".

the've all been discussed before, but i don't know if the've made it into the "read before posting" list yet.
