Music?
the music in this game is real nice for a while, but I'd perfer to hear my own choices, and since the game isn't very command+tab friendly, how about somehow incorporating my iTunes (or winamp or what have you) library into an easy in-game menu. It would also be kinda cool if you could see what other players are listening to, or maybe even hear it while hailing them if you want.
This game just speaks Jazz to me.

Someone will do this soon after we open up the interface to Lua scripting by users. As a matter of fact, I know Miharu (along with someone else?) made an itunes interface using keybinds, echo commands and an external program reading the errors.log. Mr. Spuck built an xmms interface during the beta of our new client when that interface was open. I look forward to the day when i can do *everything* within VO:)
I can't give you a date on when we'll open it up. It isn't a matter of lots of work to do to open it, but of a potential for lots of unpredictable work spent plugging holes and chasing down bugs caused by user's programs. For now we're focused on a few *really* important projects: improving scalability and reliability, making intuitive GUIs for all our /command functionality, and building tutorials that don't suck.
In the meantime, maybe someone can reply with more info about that itunes interface.

Sadly, the website has been replaced.

I had two scripts running; an AppleScript that printed the info for the current track (Title, Artist and Album) to an alias which then /echo'ed it to my screen while playing. That was written for me by Solra Bizna, and I subsequently modified it a little bit.
The current version of PFS can handle iTunes control while running (play, pause, stop, mute/unmute, prev, next, quit and status), accessed via applescript with the command /echo musicctl command. This only works on OSX.
