5 things that should be in the tutorial, that aint.
Ok, the tutorial has needed some work for quite some time, and since the new UI isnt as user friendly as the old one, it now needs it more-so.
One of the most common questions I get asked now is not *How do I dock* but rather *How do I take a mission?* or *How do I sell my ship?* now the few that have the balls to ask in the first place are rare, i'm pretty sure the devs know that most don't ask, and either work it out themselfs, and maybe stay, or get frustrated trying, end up feeling stupid, and log off. Being someone that plays lots, I reckon I know at least 70% of stuff that confuses new players, and I reckon if these things were covered in the tutorial, a lot of new players would feel more at home :)
1) The station interface needs explaining. When the tutorial ends the new guy is left on a mission screen, with no clue as what to do next. The tutorial should possibly end with a brief tour on the station interface, including different tabs on Station net (ie, missions) and on Commerce. They will at least know where to go to take a mission then :)
2) Zoom to universe needs pointing out. I still find it funny when I hear a bunch of newbys trying to get together :) one or two of them may realise there is more than one system, but the amount of times I hear *But im in D-11 and im getting shot by bots!* is too funneh hehe.
3) The normal tutorial should mention something about the mining tutorial. It should maybe also touch upon station types (Mining, Capitol, ect ect) although thats not that important right now.
4) The tutorial should maybe suggest what to do next. I reckon this should be a different suggestion for UiT and the warring factions. IE The tutorial should maybe suggest to a UiT they take a trade style mission, and to a Serco or Itani it should suggest a combat style mission.
5) It should also be suggested to the newbys that they go and explore when feeling brave enough, but that some areas of space are dangerous for them, and grey space damn well is now with teh pirate bots :D I know this is kinda said on the load screens, but well, who gets to read them these days?
Theres prolly more! So if you can think of anything, post! I know I will :D

6) It should also explain in depth, or at least the basics of the Chat system
If it were possible to embed a web browser in the client (I guess there are none that render pages to 3D engines), tutorials could be made a _lot_ more user/n00b-friendly (pictures, simple animations, big chunks of text can use the main screen instead of just the mission chat, etc). It could bring tutorials into this century!
