BS XP Suggestions (open debate)
Pretty much, the XP for the BS mission sucks, and incarnate mentioned something about tweaking the XP so 'tis balenced so then;
I'd say we should really split up the XP like so ;
Teardon kill : 700 combat, 300 heavy weps
stuff like that, so killing players in the conflict would give a high (like 300XP more) bonus. And such.
yeah so, suggestions go here, this is the suggestion fourm, peeps!

Killing players in the conflict is rather easy (esp. if they have heavy ships), this could turn into a XP well that's too strong.
Maybe 100 bonus points. 300 is too much.
And, on a sidenote... how would you make a thread here a closed debate?

Uh, by locking it

Users can lock threads now? Whoa, I must have missed out on something.
Seriosuly, though. Maybe there should be defined roles you can take on in Border Skirmish, e.g. fighter screen, bombing duty, etc.
The xp gets distributed by kill. Bombers yield more xp, since they're more dangerous to cap ships, whereas fighters are easier to drive off with a few good hits.
This could also extend into the realm of more complex xp yield. E.g. a bomber yields 100 bonus combat xp, plus 150 heavy weapons xp. Killing a fighter screen pilot yields 100 bonus combat xp and 50 light weapons xp. Or something along those lines.

IMHO, mission rewards should be in XP per time per skill+effort. More people die more in BS than for example BP (which is the natural mission to compare with), but it gives less XP, especially in a large group (and you're not vaporized by two cap gauss hits). Since the BS missions are periodical and not constant like BP, I don't see any harm in increasing XP for them in general. What I really miss is a bonus at the end if your nation wins. Right now it's just "your nation owes you one". Neighbours owe eachother one. Nations make up for themselves :)
And then there's standing. I know the standing system is being re-worked, but right now, the typical way to get good standing is through _trading_ and combat training missions. Nobody notices you destroying an enemy cap, but hauling cargo makes you a hero!
The thing that offsets all of this is fun, of course. BS missions are awesomely fun. Can't wait for the continuation (sorry for the sarcasm, I just had to get it out hehe)...
