Doukutsu,
is it posable that all your oponents backrole (or at least back up constantly) because you always moove forwards?
there is an easy way to finde out. next time you see somone backrolling apply a short burst of reverse thrust and let the distange between you increase a little bit, see if they continue backrolling or if they respond but applying forward thrust.

exDragon - I never said that ships automatically turn around. I wasn't talking about changing directions in the last paragraph either.
Lord Q - yeah, I understand what you're getting at. My style of combat does get me fairly close to an opponent, but thats not what causes them to continually backroll... the backrolling starts before that. And by backrolling, I mean BACKrolling, not just rolling. If someone _is_ backrolling, I almost always keep my distance (depending on the ship they have), just like you said. I've had cases of people backrolling all the way to distances above 1km before they realize I'm out of range and they decide to move forward.
Like I said, the only real thing I have against backrolling is that I see it all too often. I would just like to see it a little more discouraged. It takes virtually no skill to execute (i'm not bashing on the people who do it - it really just isn't ... something that takes a lot of skill to execute), and gets very monotonous to fight against.
