Mining and Reflect Armor
I think it would be a cool idea to have reflective Armor to combat some weapons , there could even be differnt level of this armor or maybe only on some ships or ship ??... also another cool idea would be able to mine inside an Asteroid(like fly into it).....My other suggestion would be to give more freedom to miners so there not attacked all the time ...it gets old when you have no weapons and someone kills you for the fun of it, I really hate that, sometimes I like to mine to make some extra cash and I can't because of bots or PVP(be cool to mine without the worry of bots or people), also can can I look behind my ship, that would be nice .....Thanks
Well, the best mining places are risking cuz' other people might be there, and its a MMORPG, if you really need it, mine in groups, at a station, or with a friend.
yea, if you don't like being attacked, don't mine in unfriendly or unmonitored space.
Nevertheless, I think an ablative/reactive armor option would be cool... the former would better reflect energy from energy weapons, while the latter would better counteract energy from physical/ordinance weapons...

custamisable armor has been on the list o' sugestions for a long time.
as for mining, why don't you just fly an armed mining ship (a wraith or 'taur with a mining beam a scanner and a weapon, or even just 2 beams and a weapin on a 'taur) ? you wouln't be able to carry as much cargo as a 'moth or extract ore as fast as a dedicated beam ship, but you'll be able to fight back against bots. And since the mining beams don't have a firing ark you don't have to stare at the 'roid, you can position the 'roid behind you and use your radar and eyes to track nearby threats.

LQ: because aside from collector bots, you wouldn't stand a chance? I mean seriously... stay and fight someone while attached to a roid, and with only one weapon? that's suicidal.
more suacidal than staring at a 'roid not mooving and hoping to not be killed?
besides, even just being able to fight off collectors opens a lot more sectors that would be suacide without any weapons.

you dumbass, you don't need to fight collectors - you can avoid them easily.
and last I checked, people tended to mine in non-botted sectors of monitored space, so no, sitting there all on your lonesome would not be suicidal, unless you were dumb enough to lose a fight with the roid you're sucking.

Ummc I mine in botted sectors all the time!! Makes mining interesting, and there is usually large roids of good ore, why do you think the bots are there in the first place?? But your right, there is rarely a need to fight the bots, even assaults and guardians, you just need to fly them in circles, or even better, get them off your radar and then stay out of line of site.
Heh, yeah, when I mine in sectors with bots, I usually fly in tight orbits around the asteroid. Occasionally an overzealous bot with actually crash into it while making an attack run, eliminating the need to turn and do all that tiresome shooting stuff the young'uns are into these days.
