Captains Log/ Message Book

A book where you can log everything that has occurred in your VO experience and also record useful information right into your private message book. This would be a very small thing but i feel it would be useful in the game.

/me buys Yuutuu1 a nice pad of paper and a pencil, with a little chain to attach the pad to his computer.

Dear Diary.... errhm I mean, Log Date 4434, I found a roid today, I ran into a lot of space junk. People are talking on 100. I died. I purchased another ship. Died. Docked at the station. Logged.

I'm writing a Notes script for exactly this purpose. It's a dodgy hack, though (reading the errors.log, etc, like the IRC Relay does); I'd love to see a Notes (or Log, or whatever) feature added so we don't have to resort to workarounds like this.

Either that, or LUA so we can do it ourselves. :P

I'm working on something like this for the interface update.

That would be really cool, especially if we could read the logs that other people had written and designated "public".

It would also be nice if that feature were to be implemented to limit viewing to a particular group of people, say, your character's guild, or just people on her buddy list.

It would be cool for RP-wise, like them stories in the RP forum

Also be neat to be able to trade/sell logs. A miners logs for example, that included locations of good roids. He could sell them for profit and transfer his data.

I use:

/ignore "<log entry>"

for this right now. It's pretty cumbersome, but gets the job done. I use it to keep track of good mining sectors. I'd like something easier to work with though--good suggestion.
