Capital Size
Maybe someones mentioned this long long ago, but eh. Shouldn't nation capitals be, uhh, bigger? Shouldn't barracks have more defenses? There should be supply depot stations that are just huge, but you can store more amounts in them (once storage is limited). Right now, there is some differences, but I think they should be wider. Stations should be more specialized.

Luis mentioned in another thread that he was doing some design work on stations, and Incarnate has said that he wants to make some stations bigger in order to accomodate capital ships.
I find the idea of capital ships docking with stations extremely dumb. Why would a ship as large as a small city need to dock with anything. If we look at other sci-fi ideas, there are usually docking arms or the use of some sort of ambilicus to accomidate transfers of goods, or the use of shuttles. The one exception that comes to mind is the very large station in Star Trek that the Enterprize docks internally with, and that station is HUGE!!! I seriously doubt that Luis/Inc. are planning to add stations that big.
I personally think that they should just simply decrease all the ships sizes proportionally so that everything is that much bigger, and maybe go back into the textures and divide the windows up to make them look like there are more there. HAC's should NOT dock with stations.
At the same time, having capital stations have more pods or sections would also be a good idea. Giving the feel of a very large city. And hopefully with the addition of player owned and constructed stations we will be able to construct our own stations to look as big as we like as well.
While this is an OLD screenshot, it sort of conveys the size, in my mind, that I'd like to see in stations (I've been told that the size is actually the same, but the perspective looks very diff to me.)

It's all just a matter of perspective. Maybe by tweaking the fov settings a bit everything could be made seemingly larger.

I wouldnt mind if they had shipyard type stations. It would be cool to see parts of the cap ships in certain areas of the shipyard, and that could be the only place where you can buy cap ships.
As for what fnugget said, I agree with that idea. Capital stations should be larger, the Strongholds should have turrets on the nearby roids as defense so it can kill anyone that is hated and is trying to attack the station (maybe when stations are destructable), Barrack stations should have structures all over the other nearby roids to make it look like it is an actually military barracks. Mining stations should also have structures on other nearby roids making it feel like they are actually mining.

Jex, they're not talking about docking in the same manner as small craft. they're talking nearby moorings with/or transportation shuttle.

most everyone went off topic and mentioned ship to station scale. My point is that CAPITALS should be bigger than other stations. BARRACKS can stay the same size, i don't care, but at least have an extra defender, preferably Prom/Valk/HogTD/Vulturius respectively to nation. At least the nations have different looking stations for the most part. And no one even mentioned anything about my idea of giant storage depots. If everyone leaves their stuff there because you can store more there, think how devastating a blockade/raid on that station is. Supply line is a huge factor in warfare.
Well, I agree with that as well, F-nug. The Itan capital station should be frikkin HUGE, easily 10 times larger than it is now. I wanna get LOST within a maze of solar panels and docking bays trying to get to open space. I want to feel DWARFED by the immensity and activity of a capital station. I think there should be 50 mots MINIMUM in that sector at all times. Not just traders, but diplomatic missions, miners, more station guards, etc etc. A Capship should be parked in orbit with its escorts, the whole ball of wax.

Ships are fairly small, but the FoV makes stuff in front of us seem to grow really fast on the screen, partially because how fast we approach them (at full turbo), which is part of why stations seem really small...if that makes sense.
Stations should be larger. Yes. But ships also move really fast. So, it's a combination of both of those, I think. Slower ships, and bigger stations = solved problem.
