The pricve is good, i guess...
However, they should be rare, like 1 comes on the market every hour or 2, making them uber hard to get, cause now everyone is flying pizza cutters and valks.
And they should be cheap, crappy versions, like 75% of the armor and possably missing a weapon port or something

The nation ships should be hyper-specialized. I think that the main problem with them now is that they're all good at pretty much everything. What's a light fighter doing with six cargo ports? Or a transport or heavy bomber with medium agility? None of the ships should be definitevly better than any of the other ships (except maybe the bus.) They should all just be built for different roles. The special ships should be the best of the best in their particular role, but be completely unsuited for any other.
another idea. when a blue's ship is bought by red or gold, the 63k is devided up and given to the blue members who are on.
Here is an idea, yes have the money divi up, but, make the void sector and make the abandoned station i menchouned sell it, thus makeing your new ship very very easy to get, but very very jard to keep.
I think all nations should have multiple special ships...
AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE AVAIDABLE TO ALL...

I really don't like the idea of having other nations own my special ship, but I did find it fun to dock at an enemy station and boost away in a stolen ship as they tried to shoot me down. This was before the s4 docks were fixed. And when it did get fixed, those Valks owned by neutral pilots were as good as gone once they were shot down. Maybe the devs could secretly open or close some enemy docks at random times to enable ship stealing. That way they will remain rare and they will not be able to be bought back. Getting them will be possible, but it won't be an easy task if your enemy defends its home sectors very well.
In other words it shouldn't be as easy as docking at a hidden sector's station to buy one, but rather finding hidden docks at the right times. Perhaps a random dock within s4, s6, or s12 can open secretly at an hourly interval... which would then alternate to the next nation within the next hour... and then alternate again... etc. Oh... and those stations shouldn't enable you to set your home there. It may be tricky to implement, but it would be a lot of fun.

I have the feeling that s15 will soon be so hard to get into...the devs will finish the frigate and we'll have a heckuva time getting in.
At first I thought there was a problem with Arolte's idea-- namely, the second a thing opened up, it'd probably find it's way onto general chat. But then I realized that'd just lead to an even more entertaining defense situation...
Arolte: I suspect that eventually various missions and reputations and other RP context stuff will be necessary to access another nations military hardware. I don't see alot of reason to hack some psuedo missions together if they are going to be superceded eventually.
Mm, circle gets the square. Good thinking, Celebrim.
As a test platform of the final game, it's still worth a try at seeing what Vendetta will be capable of. Dynamic economies too, as discussed earlier. Hopefully a lot of it will piece together and make sense in the final product. But since this is after all a test, it really doesn't have to make a lot of sense right now. True, it's something that's completely arbitrary and nonsensical, but I think it would be a nice change of pace from the traditional, static CTF type gameplay.
Anyway, it's just one of many ideas to prevent all nations from owning every special ship with such convenience. Hopefully we'll see missions develop and evolve over time as the RP aspects of the game are added. Dynamic CTF type situations where players would have to move from point A to point B to secure a location, and then from point B to point C to secure yet another location etc. would be one of many fun mission possibilities. The idea of stealing something and making it out alive from a swarm of enemies personally gives me a sense of rush also. That sort of stuff.

I think that sector 15 may be the beginning of the entry into deep space....the frigate that will go there will make it hard as s**t to get through...and things will only get worse beyond that.
I like seeing every nation's ship for sale...ideally, you should be able to sell your own ship to another player as well, for whatever price you want.

I think ships in 15 should be cheap rip-offs, because the nations don't look like they're wealthy enough to just have surplus lying around. For example, make 'em cost 30-40k each, and be like this:
Amazon (Valkyrie ripoff) :
2 cargo
2 small weapon slots
Raider (Maurauder ripoff) :
14 cargo
2 small weapon slots
Zeus (Prometheus ripoff) :
1 large weapon slot, 1 small
22000 Armor

I think the availability of special ships should jump from station to station, but always be available. Perhaps it should rotate on a hourly basis (or some block of time just shorter than it takes to fly around and check out every last station).
This would begin the development of the Vendetta economy (and the black market - so don't sell knockoffs - just 'hot' ships :P ). Perhaps players should be allowed to sell their ships to other players too.

LOL, those ripoffs will sell like lead ballons!!!!!
THERE HORRIBLE!
You can get better stuff from normal ships!

I think that these stations that sell all ships should be blacklisted by nations in some way. How, is beyond me and impossible at this point.
Secondly, I would rather see a Serco in my valk only if he "disabled" the valk in some way (A la EV-style). Buying it is too easy.
And I agree with Drooling Iguana. What IS the valk doing with 6 cargo? Or the Prom with medium agility? Anyone see the prom barrel roll or accelerate? It's ridiculous. I was dueling Icarus yesterday (him in serco valk, me in prom) and I could catch up to him with no effort at all. Do we see a problem here?
Also, the avalon has been nerfed. /me is sad. /me thought that the avalon was a truly balanced weapon.

oops...misread SirCamps's statement
Nice to see you support the Avalon too.
And you're *not* on the Serco.
/me wants a 40m fuse on it....minimum

Actually I thought it was fine where it was. It's ridiculous to put a fuse on it less than half the diameter of the damage. Anyone who died due to an avalon was probably because of an exploit or just stupidity (the latter in my case). They were so darned slow enough....... Now they are guaranteed to be used when exploiting, since they're useless with everything else. /me is sad.
When capital ships make it into the game, they will have their place, SirCamps. Be patient. Avalons are also effective when preventing enemies from docking. Simply aim at the station and BOOM!!
When capital ships come in, let the fireworks begin...
