current playerbase is in a desperate need of new ships and weps.
New client and missions are a nice addition but.......imho introducing new ships asap will bring new life to VO.

There's a fire???
I dunno if you've been following the News and General, but there's a whole bunch of new ships in the hopper. Gotta get the client working properly though, or we'll never evolve.
I totally disagree with your perspective. We'd all run around with the new ships for about a day, then argue about the stats for another few days, then many of us would settle on the easiest ship to master and then we'd all languish once again. Been there, seen it, moved on. I think the devs have it right.

You think new ships are more important than new missions? OOoooookay...
Point taken. It was just my opinion.
I remembered introduction of behemoth and all that followed it. It was fun for quite a bit longer then a few days.
New toys are always fun. Novelty wears off quickly sometimes but if a new toy is good.....kids will be happy to play with it.
Some ppl are excited about new missions some are indifferent, some like new interface/client some find it annoying, new ship models...well....speaking for myself, think I would enjoy them more then any other new addition.

Not being a PvPer, I far prefer new content to new ships. And how many times can you lose/blast away a new model before it becomes old hat?
Gimme content, then content, and then the capships and the capship content, and then the rest of the ships. And then more content.

Seriously Jex and Rogue,
How many people play this game because they like to trade?
Maybe a more valid question, how long do they play compared to PvPers?
In all fairness, most traders "play" the message forum more than the actual game.

I would most certainly like to see more stuff come into the game faster (including new ships)... but a bunch of different looking ships won't add a whole lot more fun to the game. I think the problem with the game right now is that the things that a player spends the most time on are the things that are the least exciting and fun.
New stuff is great, but it needs to be prioritized. Ship function, faction system, underlying guild and group structure, missions/story seem like the things that need the biggest revamp right now.
This is just personal opinion - and my view may differ from the devs because they see a whole lot more of their long - term goals than I do... but I personally think that adding in capitol ships right now is a mistake. I really think the current ships need to be entirely reworked as far as energy, addon, and weapon systems go. But then again, it might be easier to balance all of those things out with the capitol ships in the game first.

As an aside to the devs, I think they should get Luis' ships all ready-to-go, and then release them one at a time to the playerbase over the course of 2 months. That way, players aren't overwhelmed, and the devs can keep dangling that carrot... Heh.
Or is that an evil idea?

Kix, I think it's just that traders and miners don't tend to chat as much as PvPers
