I hadn't realized until recently how irritating it is to have to check and remember every thread I've posted to. E-mail notification would be awesome. There are several great, free, and customizable board systems available, why not use one?

Agreed. Some way of telling whether there have been any new messages since you last looked at a thread (without having to remember timestamps) would be nice.

That thread seems to be for suggestions for changes to the current board system, which appears to have been written by the devs. They certainly don't have spare time to devote to writing new features into the message board. Why not take a day to replace it completely with a more functional system, and never worry about upgrades at all?

Switching over to a different message board system would probably require the database to be completely reformatted in order to work with the new message board. Personally I don't think the benefits of a new message board are worth the probably large amounts of time needed to switch over.

Plus the fact that the current messageboard integrates into the game's user database...

leave the old system in place for archives, and start fresh.

Well, Incarnate HATES phpbb. (I tend to agree after the interminable waits on itanialliance.com, which ran under that system) Plus, lots of those freebie boards are sloooooow. Neat when you have 10 people online at a time and 300 members, but with a large playerbase, eeeeek.

Speed is most important in a board. Well, speed and a Search function. Everyone knows that the current search function SUX ASS. I'm sure a new one will be written once it becomes a priority.

I actually love this board. Fits the style of the website and i've grown used to it.

If we could get a better search and e-mail topic notification I think everything would be great.

Like Leebs say, I'm pefectly happy to navigate this spartan-yet-functional board while the Devs work on far more important stuff.

I agree with tumblemonster. Better (i.e. functional) search function. E-Mail notification and/or thread subscription.

That's all it needs.
