Mean greedy cargo-hogging NPC pirates

Mar 03, 2006 Doukutsu link
Great jorb on the NPC pirates, devs. But I've got somewhat a complaint now... Even if I destroy a cargo ship in one of the pirate systems... the corvus pirates still go after me when I try to collect the cargo. Not only that, but I suggest there be some sort of way for a pirate to get on the NPC pirate's 'friendly' list... so they don't attack you every time you take some cargo from the sector. I'm not even sure if this is possible with the mission system yet, but it'd be nice.

Just another small note, which I'm pretty sure you're aware of, but the corvus pirates still attack corvus convoys. It'd probably be a good idea if they didn't...

Hehe. Finally some competition between pirates!

I think it's great that the pirates attack you when you try to take the cargo. Leave it as is!!! Makes you need to have some team work to really collect a lot of cargo. The free ride is over, finally!!

Teamwork? Using a Corvus Marauder Mercenary, you can easily dispatch of the bots yet bring in acceptable amounts of cargo; I know I have. Teamwork is only needed if you absolutely have to have behemoths, a ship of which I grow less and less fond every time I use it. Not that I really liked it from the beginning. But that's just personal opinion, from the point of balance, it belongs in-game, perhaps mildly altered, this however being wildly off-topic.

Toshiro, you may like to solo it but this game needs to have something that will spur team work, and making the bots attack players trying to pirate loot is a good thing. And if it makes you have to take on extra help all the better.

Covus should attack any convoy, even corvus, pirates are not a unified nation, they are bans of thugs and lowlifes, they will do what they want to whoever they want, even their so called mates. It's fine as it is.

Then they shouldn't be corvus bots.
They should be...... PIE RAT affiliated.
Or something equally lame.

Being Corvus IS being Pirate, where have you been?

You think the corvus traders are pirates?

Yes, Corvus "traders" are pirates.

Agreed. Corvus "traders" are pirates who quickly switched ships to make some quick bucks on the side.

Kix being a pirate is not about flying a light intercepter and blowing people up, its about gaining swag, by any means. If they trade for it they trade for it, but they are still Corvus, and they are pirates.

I thought I had prevented all Corvus convoys from being formed. I'll take another look at that. Also- if you are on a pirate mission, they won't attack you. And, yes, at some point you'll be able to be more permanently on the "dont attack" list by doing the right missions/other stuff.

@johnhawl218:

I did not mean to make it seem as if I only preferred solitary actions.
All I meant to do was point out that the new pirates don't encourage teamwork as much. Especially since there're few ways to coordinate the rgoup.
