A few sugguestions...
To begin this post, I wish to say I'm not the most experienced players, but I am an experienced MMO player. Here are a few things that I see missing from the game(some of these may be indevelopment, some of these may be already asked, and some of these may already be released.):
1. Guild Stations and more Guild Oriented PVP -
Though this Idea has a lot of balances that would mess with the system, I think that Fooz summed it up perfectly.

2. Trading System -
I brought this up in 100 and I got a lot of cocked eyed views. People thought I was nuts... But think about it(please note, this analogy is going to be the worst possible one ever xD):
Ship A needs some Scrap Metal but is a bit too poor to get all the metal he needs, so Ship B fronts him the metal for a discounted price because he has too much from when he was hunting Centjocks.
Of course, Trading should only be allowed between the same faction... A Serco shouldn't be supplying an Itani... Though maybe out in Open Space place a "Trading Station" which allowed trades to anyone as long as they were docked there and could see the "Auctions."
Though these are my main sugguestions some small ones also apply, more missions, more weapons, more of a ship variation, and some PVP types(CTF, Pac-Man as was mentioned in the 100 Channel, etc.)
As I've told a lot of players, I came from FFXI and WoW and EQ before those... This game has the potential to beat them all out easily... It just needs to be more in depth.

The thing i see is mainly about the "more Guild Oriented PVP". I don't see how that has anything to do with the game itself. That is the players deciding to put things together and organizing events. the actual game has nothing to do with that.

Well they should allow a way in which you can... Get missions and such for taking down other Guild Members, or the likeing...

Trading should be free between nations. For one, it fits the storyline, and is essentially the whole idea behind the UIT as a nation.
Of course you can't be hated by a nation you wish to trade with - they'll kill you. There shouldn't be mass boycotts or blockades between nations though. In fact, there should be higher reward for running trade routes betwen nations.

After thinking about some things, I've thought of more things to add but feel I shouldn't make a new topic(I apologize for double post, this is also acting as a bump.)
3. More group oriented missions -
Let's face it, Grouping doesn't have much use right now, adding some mroe Group Oriented missions would be great... From having to go take out the Strike Squad in Itani with your Serco Buddies, to having to over-run a Station in UIT
These missions can also help fair in a "Conquest Mode" in which every station is up for grabs, and at the end of each "Conquest" the nations with the most stations gain more supplies and other perks...
At the end of each Conquest the Conquest is also reset to the original manner it was in.
4. "Rare" weapons -
I hate seeing every vulture with the same setup... Maybe have a way in which you can enter an "instance" and find Rare Weapons, with special stats... Even if they were Randomly Generator, that would be even cooler... "Phase Blaster +6" Have it be stronger in some way then just a Phase Blaster... but if someone else was looking for a the same rare weapon, they'd have a hard time finding it, because something else may change on it as it's randomly generated.
