Ambient sound in stations
It might be interesting to have ambient sounds in stations, a la EVN. Basically, there's a backround sound that differs depending on what type of station you're in. In a Fed station? You hear announcements telling someone to go somewhere. In an abandoned station? You hear metal creaking and groaning. It would make the gameplay a bit more immersive, and then there's the plain old 'wow' factor. Maybe there could be a preference to turn it off or something, for the people who don't like it. Ooo... And if the station's under attack or something, sirens could go off! /me imagines hearing an air raid siren and running out in his valk...
Pyro, the name Klaxons sounds much better then sirens, besides sirens reminds me of 8th grade myth thing.
Abandon stations should creak and groan, if the station has unknown inhabitants you could here sounds of them scurrying around.
If you dock right after attacking someone and that person docks you should hear foot steps coming from the left and going to the right slowly, metal boots on metal floors, clang, clang, CLANG, CLANG, clang clang. Like Metriod Fusion when your near the SA-X

I liked it when you could hear what was going on OUTSIDE the stations. Then you could judge more safely whether you should stay inside longer or leave.

Agreed. I don't know why the outside sounds were taken out. In previous versions I used to be able to hear the *clank* sounds of mines being placed, or rocket hitting the hull of the station etc. Did this feature break through updates or was it intentionally taken out?

oh that explains that. I've been shooting stations trying to get them to come out for some time now, no wonder I don't get yelled at for doing it anymore.
