Cap Ships In Test Server
I would like to suggest that you make the HAC availible in the test server, for flight test purposes. I talked to Relayer a while ago, and she told me flying a capship was a real pain, so I thought it might be nice if you opened the things up to players for flight, and we could make some suggestions on how to make them more manageable.
This is entirely up to you of corse, I'm not gonna flame you all to a crisp if you don't, I'm just glad this game is around, I've been looking for something like this forever. :D

This would be nice, if just for kicks, and some funny screenshots.
Sorry folks, can't really be done at the moment. The biggest problem, is that the only way to put a player in a ship with the current interface/various-other-code is for them to buy it at a station and then undock. We can make it available for purchase, but rather than undocking you appear inside the docking bay, HAC parts sticking out of the station, and can't move. We can do dev tricks to get ourselves into open space, but it is seriously no fun *at all* to fly it right now. The way the ship moves doesn't even resemble what you're trying to get it to do with the normal controls. Anything bigger than a behemoth is going to have to wait for a different docking mechanism and UI- even on the test server.

How about a big invisible box with a flag that says *cap ships undocks to this point* Hehe. I suppose it cannot be done though. I guess I'll just wait for the new UI on monday, can you guys do it then? Maybe?

It wouldn't really be helpful for us to give input based on the current control system since the devs have already said they're not going to use it and are instead going to design a special control interface for the capitol ships. So it would only be "nice, if just for kicks." And as momerath pointed out upon undocking the ship gets stuck on the station with the only way out being /teleport. It doesn't make sense for the devs to take time away from getting the ship to a testable point just so that we can toy with the current incarnation.
