I was trying to think of things to give the game a more RPG feeling and was thinking that I want to own a station and be able to buy upgrades such as sector defense and have control over a sector.

What does everyone else think?

Oh, and that sounds like an entirely different game to me. Not like an RPG/space combat, more like a strategy game. Not saying it wouldn't be fun.
