Guild Titles

Dec 09, 2005 Maximian link
Well I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this or not. But in a guild we have the councils, lts. regular members, and of course the commander. Well I was thinking to specialize each guild to their own...like a military guild could use different ranks other than Lts like captains etc instead of just council to title their members. But only for the ranked officers such as councils lts and commanders. And like in a democratic society guild they could name the councils senators etc something creative. And have a certain name instead of just member for all regular members, to make them stand out more. But that's up to the guild itself to come up with the names. Maybe create a command to where the commander can change them in game. And if you have a title like commander, but that beside there guild tag. Like when selected LT. of "guild". I just think that would be neat.

I think "Commander" should be changed to "Grand Poobah" !!

For Serco Guilds, "Almighty Endorphinizer"
For Itani Guilds, "Mister Know-it-all"
For UIT Guilds, simply "CEO".

Yeah, guilds can become specialized to what they want to do(maybe get extra equipment suited to the purpose)Say a guild that wants to take action against itani then thay could get the stuff for the job and be positioned near the Itani border

This would be kind of neat. We'd need that nice Guild UI page in the new user interface, tho...

I like this idea. It would allow a little more differentiation among guilds.

Broma-Ba Slick
LT (just like dozens of other LTs)

This would be great for the CDC, which doesn't really need a commander or LT since we're pretty independant of each other.

I'd expect lots of new guild options with the new UI.

The thing is, these titles dont give much, really.

Only when do you select a a player and hit 'k' does it reveal anything about the title of a player.

Even if the title of the player would shot up in chats or 'u' user lists, it would still be somewhat meaningless.

I'd ratter have a section (call it squadron) group displayed under the guild tag when you select a player. Eg:

[TAG] Player Name
Guild Section

This way, commanders/LTs could give sub-titles for each member such as "Diplomat", "CFO", "Investigation Officer", "Race Arbitrator" etc.

It would add another dimension to guilds.

The titles DO give a lot, it's gives them guild powers.
