Random NPC pirates

Travelling in VO Uniwerse for me is sometimes very boring. Why not create some random NPC pirate ships which will hail you and attack when you are travelling?

They are making missions. I think of some random events. Like random events they happen not if you choose a mission but randomly.
You just fly in a sector and you find a pirate hailing you and attacking and if you pay him he could leave i.e.

It could also a random damaged NPC ship flying and asking for help.

You could meet ET with his bike personaly. :) (for the serious ppl: that was a joke...)

This events would make the game more fun of course not for everybody but I would like it. How about you?

I've been asking for npc pirate attacks (random) for months! Not a new idea, but a good one, and one that will hopefully get added after all the other stuff gets done first. There just aren't enough random events that happen in the verse, everything for the most part is initiated and that gets boring after a while. Of course not including getting jumped, but that's easy enough to see coming for the most part. Bring on the random pirate attacks!!!!!

they are FOR SURE going to attack convoys (there will be at least two convoy missions-pirate convoys, and defend convoys. the bots will do BOTH)

There'll be both random and player-participated pirates. The idea of "missions" is changing. It's not simply that things will happen if players take missions. If no players are around, then NPCs will take it. So the "missions" will always be filled. Aside from this, I would like a presence of persistent NPC "pirates", a faction which a player could potentially join (adjunct of Corvus). These are all pretty old ideas, concepts that are just now finally coming to fruition.

So Corvus would be more of a "Legitimate Businessman Organisation" than out-and-out pirates, eh? Cool...
