Some guns and ship changes that would be nice
First, teh rail gun. Now useless do to it's nurf. IT should only take 100 E to fire, puting it back into the line of usefull weapons.
Second, the blue fighter. 14000 heath. it's a special ship, not a friggin centurian!!
Or just give it 1 large port. That would make it fair.
Next the gatlin gun. Lotta lead in a short time. nice. Just too long range. 250 m should be it's max, maybe a bit less, and it should do less damage. It's now the best gun, which puts it in the position the rail gun was. We want things to be even.

The rail gun would still be nerfed at 100 energy. Detailed analysis to come latter.
I don't like 'special' ships, where 'special' means 'better'. It's still the best interceptor in the game by far, and still by far the best dogfighting tool. If anything its got too much health still - and I'm Blue.
How many people who before 3.1 argued that skill should determine the winner are now arguing for butt kicking weapons and ships?
The regular gatling is actually a little weak for a 'large' weapon. The advanced gatling is very good, which it should be. At long ranges the thing rarely hits anyway because of its scatterfire effect. Leave like it is for now, I say. If anything, make the advanced gatling cheaper.
Things are never going to be even by tweaking the weapons with these large reflexive changes. As long as you are still doing that, and players are still requesting that, you are just moving the problem around.

The advanced gatling gun is fine. You're simply getting too close to your enemy. Back off and learn to dodge. Then you'll be fine. And yes, it's inaccurate at greater distances.
The blue special should be made cheaper then. How do I figure this? Let's start with the centurion. Well it's somewhat more maneuverable than the Centurion, so add 600c (1/2 the original value) for that. That's 1800c. It's got three times the armor, so add 3600 (3x original value). That's 5400. Finally, it has two more weapons ports. Therefore, add another 600 each. This comes to a grand total of 6600. All these together are big changes. So double the final price. This gives us 13200c for the final cost. Alas, the ship costs 21000. This cost is ridiculous for a ship that really is on level fighting ground with a hornet, a vessel that only costs 10000. So either add a lot more armor, add another gun port or two, or reduce the price to 13200c. Thank you for reading my post.
roguelazer: That seems a pretty arbitrary formula with a pretty arbitrary starting place (the price of a Centurion). Also, the Valk and the Centurian in theory have the same manueverability.
I could just as easily start with the price of a Centaur, and not that it is 3 steps more manueverable so 10,000 * 1.5 * 1.5 * 1.5 starts use out at 33750, and then...

In size, it is closer to a centurion than a centaur. Besides, you don't subtract anything with a light ship. You would subtract stuff with a heavy...
'special' ships should be harder to get, not just shelling out th bucks and beat up people, there should be a challange that you need to complete under a certain time, the faster you complete it the less it should cost, and all nations should be able to own other nation's ship, at a price, like no discount for doing a good time.
